not so, you still manage to find plenty of n00bs to deadbeat in your games.
Or you could stick to the many, many decent players.
Still, as for the original question, this would be too hard to enforce and just cause more problems than it is worth. It's a game. If you don't like playing someone, use your ignore list ... and move on. Unless you are in contention for Conquerer, there are plenty of others out there to play.

I always considered a timely backstab as part of the game! You never play Diplomacy or anything?!

Actually it's rubbish.
This 'upgrade' is only desired by one person (a tool) on this whole website, and would take a disproportionately large amount of time to code, which would be better spent on making improvements that the majority of other players (not tools) desire. Y'see, most players keep their word on alliances (making this option obsolete), it's just that they've put you on ignore because you're a tool.
Therefore: You have only yourself to blame that you are forced to spend your days playing with n00bs (and yourself). Making this option would be a waste of time and effort, and that's why nobody supports it.
Back to the tool-box you go Klobber, nobody wants you, or your idea.
Shoo shoo!

No, you would have to have a person involved to mediate. Some people are just not clear enough (does 3 turns start now or not) some people think that just because they propose a truce it is accepted, also, some people consider truces absolute and others until their purpose is defeated.
Whatever you do, you will get complaints which means mod involvement.
Too much trouble for too little gain, I would say. Better to let each person take care of this themselves.
Besides, though I don't some people feel disregarding truces is just another form of strategy.
Like cursing,"doubling up" on freestyle and a few others, this is a "free choice" issue. Use your ignore list.

Ha ha. Klobber throws all of his toys out of the pram because nobody else wants to play with them. What a tantruming baby.
Classic tool behaviour if I ever saw it.
Good day to you all.
