hmmm ... i think you have the point of this thread well under control... so i shall move onto the Asian Elephant: the Ears of this sub-species of pachyderm are vital in the mating courtship and are the primary erogenous zone! In the process of 'feeling out' of a prospective procreational pairing.. both sexes will fervently fondle one-anothers external ear flaps using their extended proboscis (or trunk).
It is well documented that the size of the respective elephants ears corresponds accurately to the girth and length/depth of male and female genitals. Scientists have surmised that this behaviour has evolved to maximise success of coupling and egg fertilization.
Once sizing and titillation is complete and If the right buttons are pressed, mating proceeds; lasting for up to 3 months. Ear-play continues throughout coitus and is widely accepted to be the key reason for the Asian elephants smaller ear size in comparison to its African cousin.
