I agree with what Mr. Squirrel said. I think this map is better off without ships, hurricanes, and other slightly more complicated aspects.
One thing you should do is add in major rivers, most notably the Mississippi, which can act as impassables to break up the land.

the distance between any two points in that gulf is not so great that it can't be achieved by boat.... boats would make gameplay interesting
for example... illegal fishermen in mexico get fish for cheaper and send it to florida/georgia or whatever... thats an easy connection to understand, and opens up the gameplay

Everyone can do the whole "I'm so mature, I can't believe that someone could think of wangs lol" thing 'till they're blue in the face, but the fact remains that there are three very extraordinarily erectile elements to this map (florida, cuba, and the sierra madre mountains). Lots of dorks. And don't give me this whole "it's how the earth is shaped" bullshit. The goddamn map should be renamed Swordfight. Which is a shame, because it seems like if could go somewhere. Just, hopefully with fewer obvious dangly bits. Translation: make the map look less like a dong parade.
Penis.
I am 100% serious.

just a thought.
definitely will check that out...
There hasn't really ever been any wars here, to my knowledge. I know that the Spanish conquistadors came to Florida seeking the fountain of youth, and they colonized most of the area, but other than that, it has a fairly quiet history.
bspride wrote:whitestazn88 wrote:is this a map of the water, or the territs surrounding the water, or both?
are hurricanes going to be involved? if not hurricanes, how about sea turtles as a means of traveling across the gulf...
i hope to incoporate both water and land...no hurricanes...maybe ships...
I personally would like to see this map have circular gameplay like Rjbeal's Iceland map. The terrain is perfect for it. You can have short attack routes from central America to Cuba and Cuba to Florida. This will leave the large ocean in the center open for the legend and title. I would prefer that over having attack routes that span the whole Gulf. That's simply unrealistic.
I live in Texas and was not quite impressed with the Texan Wars map (it was terribly labeled...had some small towns on the map that shouldn't be there)...that is why i want to make the map...I too havent heard of any wars either...yet i was thinking of adding famous shipwrecks in the Gulf...
I will have to look at the Iceland map to see your idea but I like how the Gulf would only be for the legend...and i guess I will fix the map so the 2 year olds on this forum will stop wanking off to it...I was really going for Androidz mom but i couldnt quite get the nose right...so damn long

are you saying he should chop down florida and cuba? just because they look like cocks? thats a ridiculous sentiment, and if i were from florida or cuba, i'd be extremely offended.

Whats more disturbing his the shape of the Gulf, its looks like its going to eat it-.- this is why you need to change this above.
(Whats happens now its up to the mods)
pull your head out of the gutter for once and grow the f*ck up...you sound like a fucking two year old...OMG its happens to resemble a penis about to get a blowjob...pull up google earth and look...it looks pretty much the same...
What bothers me is that it do not look like cuba at all.
If you this think resample anything then im must be fretty insane. Im not kid, altough they way you did it need to be changed for the kids. Beside i disscussed this matter with INk and told me to suggest to change it.
Whitestance look at this map its not alike as a "penis" at all. But on his map it is.

Well, most people from Florida have recognized what our state looks like and has gotten over it a long time ago. Your guys' complete obsession for the topic is something we see amongst 2nd graders around here.

But it dont look like a gigantic penis in real life. So i dont know what your talking about, i tought people liveing in that island should know this better than the americans/other parts of the world. And this is why it should be changed to it normal shape.

When you say, "not until I finish" do you mean that it is quenched, or just progressed to main foundry. Because no offense, but I think this map has a lot more potential that your other map. We have three different maps already in play of Great Britian (British Isles, Scotland, Ireland), I really don't see the need for another one of the area. This map though, is pretty new and a lot more original. But, you can do whatever you want. It isn't for me to decide.

I would definetly like to quench War of the Roses map...ive put enough effort that i would like to see it through...your concern about the quantity of maps is silly...there is like 3 USA maps...with even more in development...I think that as long as the gameplay is different, than its fine to be representing the same geographical area...

This map has been
moved into retirement.
It would appear that development of this map has stalled, as there have not been any updates for some time.
If the mapmaker wants to continue with the map, then one of the CAs will be able to help put the thread back into the Foundry system
