There hasn't really ever been any wars here, to my knowledge. just a thought.I personally would like to see this map have circular gameplay like Rjbeal's Iceland map. The terrain is perfect for it. You can have short attack routes from central America to Cuba and Cuba to Florida. This will leave the large ocean in the center open for the legend and title. I would prefer that over having attack routes that span the whole Gulf. When you say, "not until I finish" do you mean that it is quenched, or just progressed to main foundry. Because no offense, but I think this map has a lot more potential that your other map. We have three different maps already in play of Great Britian (British Isles, Scotland, Ireland), I really don't see the need for another one of the area.
