Yeah, but see, whilst McCain is going to rape the Constitution gently, and careful-like, Obama is going f*** it up the ass for all it's worth like a gangsta. And you're right, I recently finished DiLorenzo's books on him, and can safely re-affirm that Abraham Lincoln was a monumental twat.

I picture Obama as a far gentler lover.
Wait, that didn't come out right...

No, way better. I'll give you a hint, it involved a guy whose name rhymes with Han Bon Jovi.

No, Some singer named, um, Rufus Bon Jovi, I think. He had a fundraiser at his house for Obama.
I didn't go, but I was chilling with Lomax, Gonzo, and Pooh when we saw Obama's plane and the secret service, and we were like, "America, f*ck Yeah!"
And then we drove away and were like, "$30,000 a ticket to that party fellas."

(all three of us, at the same time).
And we were sad.
But we kept driving along. And then a song came on, called "Livin on a Prayer", and somehow, through the sheer power of Bon Jovi's rocking (as was possible in all 80s metal hair band videos), we were transmogrified into debutant gentlemen about the town, with tickets to the biggest party on the east coast. And the beat up Toyota became a Ferrari.
No, actually none of that happened. Except Gonzo made a comment about the secret service that made us all give him a look.
Obama was in New Jersey, and I was driving through it, and wondered if his trip had made news... Guess not.

They had a fundraiser in the house next door to me last year, and Carole King was there.
I'm not awestruck by JBJ or Carole King, but I thought I'd just mention it.

Hey THORNHEART...
maybe you can discover a few facts worth repeating here.
That voting thing you referred to,
"present" as opposed to casting a yes/no vote on legislation is in reference to Barack Obama's eight years as an
Illinois Senator... which forces a bill to be reworked by it's presenters before returning to the Senate for a vote. This is usually done to remove unrelated spending/grift/pork from a bill before it can be approved by the Illinois Senate.
honibaz... "two sides of the same coin?" maybe so... I felt it didn't make much difference which party was in control, but two terms of George Bush has changed that view.
Same as the old boss?
DaGip sed... "The Republican Party officially left it's conservative base." Is it the word maverick that makes you believe this? The GOP ticket is very very very conservative. Republican ads say, "Washington is broken and McCain knows it", but he's been there since 1982 and hasn't done much of anything about it.

Targetman, the word you were looking for earlier is spelt 'controversial'.

I think the McCain campaign should use a poster of the guy who was waving his home-made banner while McC was urging the delegates to go do something useful, like teach an illiterate adult.
It read "Mavrick".
