I don't see that much an issue with writing styles personally, as it can be fun and challenging trying to recognize (or worse, imitate) the style of fellow mafiaers. 100% agree on the activity part though, quality is of course also a concern but lately activity has been a primordial quality for a game to run smoothly ><

Activity seems to be lacking in some spots.

Yes, I do realize that to insure a concept such as this working, everyone must be active, which is why I was considering implementing some, shale we say, extremist replacement policies, of course I will be running these rules by you players later

But do not worry, I will insure that we can come to a reasonable compromise.

To address the second question, as GA has said, trying to insinuate being something you are not, has always been a valid tactic, I don't try to make things any more fair to the players, I expect the players to give most of the game play, of course that is not to say there will be no editing at all, but that part may not be up to me.

Theme has been decided, Now I'd like to run by you all a draft of the rules.
The point of which being the activity of the players, please do not quit or be discouraged from joining because of them, they are all negotiable, just state what you would like.
Also I would like to know if the deadlines and phases last too long, too short or whatever, so please state your opinions.

Rules
1. Day phases will last until either a lynch is reached or until discussion slows down to less than five posts per 24 hour period, which results in a six day deadline
2. If at the end of the day no lynch has been reached the person with the most votes on them will be automatically lynched, if there is tie the lynched will we chosen at random between the involved parties, if there are no votes, the lynched will be chosen at random from a list of every lynchable player, the only way to avoid a player being lynched is either to have a majority in favor of a no lynch, or to lynch the mod
3.Dead players are not allowed any further discussion, they may post a final goodbye or an occasional spam message, but it is advised they keep stay out for the most part, and may not under any circumstance say anything game related besides "good luck" or something similar.
4. I refuse to prod any of you, failure to post during the game day will result in instant replacement at the start of the night phase, so as not to interfere with the balance of night actions, the only exceptions are if either the game day is very short (less than 72 hours), skipped, or you give me a notice before you leave.
5. I am lazy and I refuse to look for replacements, replacement spots are always open, just tell me and I'll add you to the list (unless you were already part of the game, then I'll have to think it over.) if a replacement is not ready by the next day phase then the player will be mod-killed.
6. Normal Night posting is not allowed to contain game related content.
7. Anonymous night posting does not require you to adhere to any post restrictions you may have in the day.
8. Because of the nature of the actions, there are three phases in the game, Day: the time you post, vote and discuss events freely, Night: which lasts four real days (96 hours) or until all actions are in, the time when most of you send in your actions, plus send in your posts for the night, and Late Night: The time when the final touches are added by certain roles, lasts Three real days (72 hours) or until all actions are in.

The rules seem okay to me, but number 2 seems a little unorthodox...isn't it usually just a no lynch when that happens?

eh, it depends, I suppose that's what people here do, but sometimes a deadline causes votes needed to drop.
it can be hard for town to reach proper conclusion sometimes
would you prefer no lynch be forced?

i like all the rules but the "six days deadline" way too long, i prefer fast paced games, therefor your rules suit me.

Very well, I will be sure to change it to a shorter deadline in the final draft, two or three days depending on how many people there are.
But it's still okay that the (combined) night phase will likely last a week, if actions are not sent in promptly?

i could cut both night phases to 48 and 72 hours i find 96 hours just for send night actions quite excesive, now write the articles for the newspaper, indeed might require a bit of time ^^ i think 5 days combined should do the trick for most ppl, what do you think?

Well, I suppose the late night phase could be a bit shorter, but the normal night phase consists of night actions and the night posts, I will consider cutting down the phases as the players themselves become more scarce
For now it depends on the amount of sign ups I am able to get this week.
I'm thinking
72 hours each if we can get about 15-17 people, which is around the amount I was planing for, but of course if you all are able to get the actions in promptly enough it will be much faster.

Well, I haven't played the way you're suggesting before, so I guess it would be an added twist (for me anyway)

i demand a rule reinforcing the players to save their pm's, i know is just common sense, but good sense is not all that common.

Not sure that the random draw idea for lynching is such a great one. Well not for the first 2 day phases at least. Not that I think we'll have that problem as we seem to have pretty much RL time allowed. But ofc it's your game.

FloresDelMal; Alright then
9.Save your PMs, and remember your actions, if you lose your role, I'll give you some sort of annoying Post restriction
also an update to rule seven...
7. Anonymous night posting does not require you to adhere to any post restrictions you may have in the day, but I may give you a separate one for night phases.

Thezzaruz; Ties are uncommon, and complete no votes are near unseen, but I suppose it's a bit unfair to kick someone off with no votes, so
2. If at the end of the day no lynch has been reached the person with the most votes on them will be automatically lynched, if there is tie the lynched will we chosen at random between the involved parties, the only way to avoid a player being lynched is either to have a majority in favor of no lynch, have no votes at the end of the day, or to lynch the mod.

just a quick heads up, but I'm cutting sign ups a bit short so I have time to write all of the role PMs and the first scene, then run it by PCM.
So sign ups close sunday, whenever I get online.
Game still starts on the 30th
Anyone who hasn't yet, Please sign up now!
