You need not worry about me being offended, your negativity is lost on me. If you are not interested in this map you are more than welcome to simply avoid it, and those who are interested in a challenging alternative to the usual maps of this site, and even an alternative to the unusual ones, can enjoy the experience of Texas.Marvaddin wrote:Cant you abandon the idea? Beyond the fact an US state map has an interest lower than zero to non-Americans like me, the map is simple terrible.
The graphics are really poor. It looks like another CC map version to players with monitor EGA. Blocky borders (a problem I also have a lot), poor colours, bad font, terrible legend, huge size and tons of wasted space... Beyond the total lack of art, and even title.
But the playability is the worst. Couldnt you imagine a continent most ridiculous than that Gulf Coast? And that Prairies and Lakes? Worst continent ever, 9 border countries. I counted 49 countries, and 39 border countries. 4 continents have all countries in border, and another one has only 1 non-border. Could you make it a bit worse? Difficult, but you should try.
Dont take it personally, but it seems you have no idea of how to make a map. I dont want to offend you, but in my opinion its wasted effort.
<sarcasm>Shhhh! Stop posting unhelpful and unwanted ideas, and suck a dick, D.IsleRealBrown. This map is not for you, but for him and those who are interested in a challenging alternative to the usual maps and the unusual ones (possibly no one). You are welcome to avoid it.thejackofhearts wrote:You however can suck a dick, and if you would be so kind as to stay the hell out of my post with your unhelpful and unwanted ideas, I would be greatly apreciative.

By these words, it looks like he thinks the map is near completion, when it surely is not. To put a map alive, it needs to be quenched, and it is only when all complaints are answered, by changes in the map, or at least justified. Now I need to decide how much each continent is worth, then I can start coding, and if anyone has any suggestions I'm always up for Ideas.
So, I cant veto an idea, and this is not what Im doing, although I have no interest in Texas. The problem is in the current development, and jack is doing this in the wrong way. He needs change the map to correct the problems, or explain his ideas instead of suggest other to suck anything. If he continues this way, the map will not be accepted, Im sure, because its already clear here:Developmental maps will be discussed in length in the Foundry, in their respective topics. Cartographers must be open to any advice and suggestions. Be sure that if you do not implement said advice you must have logical reason for doing so. This rebuttal must be stated either by you, or argued by another Foundry poster who sees the drawbacks or shortcomings in said advice. There will be no rebuttals of ‘It’s my map, let me do it my way.’ Waiting for feedback on your map is the one of the most important parts of development.

You should explain it before then. I dont think its a good idea. Indochina map has already some unholdable continents alike yours, and is one of the most hated maps. Anyway, you have 2 near normal continents in the map too, mainly the light blue, so its the same of Indochina, but without a bottleneck. And Im sure many non-premium dont think looooong games are a good thing. In fact, I agree with them. More than 20 or 30 turns is usually boring. If you want some feedback, maybe you can make it a poll.thejackofhearts wrote:I know that several continents have all border countries, I did that on purpose, I wanted to create a map with very difficult continents to hold, thereby making for longer more exiting games. To counter the bonuses being harder to attain, I will be making them significantly larger than most.

I'm with Marv on this one, defending 7 countires in a 7 country continent is not my idea of a good time.Marvaddin wrote:You should explain it before then.
