actually, the internet is NOT the press... and will soon be less than free unless legislation is updated.
But, freedom is not so much about a few people being able to voice opinions. Freedom is about the FEW being able to freely express radical ideas that are unpopular, particularly that are unpopular with the government.
By THAT standard, we have been losing ground ever since Bush came into office. And as for security ... my grandparents lived through, fought in WWII. My grandmother would call some of the radical protestors of the 60's and 70's "traitors" ... but even she took exception and feared the consequences of what was implemented by the Bush administration.

Yes and Obama will destroy us all with higher taxes ... never mind that his policies will actually REDUCE taxes for the overwhelming majority of MIddle Class Americans. But it was said on TV and is being spread all over the internet ... it MUST BE TRUE!!!!

Taxes are the way of government... regardless of who gets elected, there will be taxes.
Even the first Bush who famously said, "Read my lips, No new taxes" could not stand
true to those words. McCain will have to finance his Iraq/Afganistan war and other
policy decisions somehow... and it will definitly be with tax dollars.

as for the couric interview palin brought up a lot of good points, and mccain is the maverick and he will make change in washington and people are just being too hard on palin.

And then, if you're under Sarah Palin's jurisdiction, go pay for the rape kit because the government won't look at evidence unless you shell out 1.2k for their investigation. Or you could suck it up and just let the rape victim get away. View it as a quickie.
