Not having heard from LFAW, I'm pleased to report that pjk will be fighting it out in the balloon races and onwards.

Reminder of the doubles round that will follow this 3rd singles match:
Eight Balloon Race winners are guaranteed a slot for doubles. Four “wildcard slots” will be selected at random from those eliminated in the prior races, to compete in this round. It’s another 3-continent double-elimination - 2 teams on each map, rotating opponents on each subsequent map: Australia, North America, and South America. Participants from round 1 will be given first option as “reserves” – by random draw.

Seven of you are guaranteed to go on, with a remaining 5 who will go on in order to round out the doubles teams. Obviously, some but not all might team from among the winners.

The 7 winners: You get the option to settle amongst yourselves who is teaming with whom; if you cannot agree, all teams will be settled by random draw as follows:
1. Random draw requisite number of names from the unsuccessful Round 1 players.
2. Random draw doubles teams for Round 2

Remember, who you team with for Round 2 Match 1 stays your mate for all of Round 2, and stays on your team for Round 3 and the final round. Those who were not selected to go on to Round 2 are first reserves for subsequent rounds/matches.

Round 2 is again a double-elimination, each team playing different opponents on different maps until each team either wins twice or loses twice.
