But I don't know about hiding the games. If someone invites you to game X and you can't find it it could lead to confusion...
I REALLY like this idea. In fact, I was going to post a new thread, but
did a quick look first
Most people would just as soon not play games with anyone who is on their foe list OR play with anyone who has them "foed".
I believe using this as "strategy" is not appropriate, plain and simple. If you want to exclude someone from joining your games, then fine ... don't play them. If that changes, you can put them back on.
The EXCEPTION is tournaments. I believe that if someone joins a tournament, foe lists should be overridden. If the game type is tournament, foe lists will automatically be ignored (for those games only). Anyone joining tourneys will be notified of this, so there is not mistake. Now, as far as I know, you have to take someone off your foe list, then remember to put them back on. That can be a pain.

However, I hope this doesn't become a restriction from joining any games with someone who happens to be on my foes list.
This would amount to a punishment for using the foes list, which would be pretty ridiculous.
Those on the foes list are offenders, and should be restricted, but those who use the foes list are victims, and should not be restricted simply for using the foes list.
offenders? so what offense did someone like myself, jiminski, or frop commit to warrant your foe list? no games played, no pm's back and forth... i think notification of an ignore upon entering a game is not enough. you should be completely barred from playing games with those on your foe list - while many use the foe list for those who
offended them, many nameless individuals use the foe list extensively in an abusive manner preventing innocent individuals from playing with them. it is an insult for the latter category to be given the power to pick and choose how they play those on their foe list.
many say just foe those who have foed you but many of us, if not all, aren't fully aware of whose foe lists we are on and the opportunity for manipulation of the foe list system exists. it stinks that there are some abusers of the system who keep trying to klobber a level playing field.

I'm glad you asked that!
Because most members who use the foes list aren't overly attached to the offenders they place there, and usually just forget about them immediately and move on like well-adjusted adults, your quest to find out the reasons why any of the members who have found reason to place you on their foes lists may prove futile.
However, here is a partial list of common reasons various members may have found for placing you on their respective foes lists:
1. You are a "jerk."
2. You are a poor and unskilled player.
3. Your IQ is too low.
4. Your score is too low.
5. You are an internet stalker, or have displayed some of the shameful characteristics of the internet stalker, such as a negative over-attachment for one or more strangers on the internet.
This is hardly an exhaustive list of reasons various members may have had for placing you on their respective foes lists, but you are very likely to qualify for a few of them -- I hope this helps!
Buck up, princess! If you search very hard, you may still be able to find someone, somewhere on the site, who is still willing to play a game with you.
Good luck!

That would be great IMO.
ofc a split into one "games" foe-list and one "forum" foes-list would be good also.
lackattack wrote:But I don't do popups
Then how about a re-direct like the one we get when we post here???

reverse Foe list warning message

Display a warning when joining members of your foe list games- Currently, when you try to join someone who has foed you, you are disabled from doing so.
- However, the reverse is not true. With an ever-growing foe list, it's hard to remember who i foed long ago. If they didn't foe me, I can join their game even though i probably don't want to.
Specifics:- When joining an existing game, check the joinee's foe list against the list currently joined members.
- Preferably with javascript, confirm("XXXXX is on your foe list. Are you sure you want to join this game?"); when the "Join game" link is clicked.
- Another option would be to display foes in a different color or with some background icon next to it to denote a foe on the 'join games' menu.
This will improve the following aspects of the site:- It will keep a lot of old feuds from being re-kindled, and the retaliatory bad feedback, etc
- You will know why you seem to be missing chat (as foes chat is not displayed)

I have wanted this for a long time. I even suggested it once. I was in a hurry to join a rt once and didn't realize there was someone in the game that I had on my ignore list. I never ever want to play with this person and didn't even think to look if he was in the game. I was the last to join and there was no way to exit.

I love this idea. I have said so in the past, and I will continue to say so, in the future. Hopefully this thread doesn't die like the other(s).

As much as it PAINS me to agree with Glide, I must do so here. Even blind bears catch a penguin every now and then!
Games with foes

by theconquerer1995
Concise description:- I think that we should be able to play games with our foes.
Specifics:- When you join a game that has a foe in it, it would warn you that there was a foe of yours in the game and if you still wanted to play the game.
This will improve the following aspects of the site:- If you feel like beating the crap out of one of your foes, you'd be able to do it.

Maybe you should just try remembering who is on your foe list?

Here is another reason that this is a good idea. Say that you were in a clan war, and all of the games except one were filled up. You wanted to join that game, but it had a foe in it. You wouldn't be able to play the game.

It sounds like a great idea to me
Being foed would probably be a problem with tournaments and, as you say, clan wars etc.
I think you should have some lease over who can join your games though...maybe when a foe of yours tries to join your game you have to "accept/admit" them first ?

This is a terrible idea... I put people on my foe list because I don't want to play them, plain and simple.
