Do you realize that (at least in this thread) the more you post, the more insecure you sound? Instead of simply stating your opinion, you hysterically go off on wild tangents proclaiming that Americans can't stand to lose so they form their own sports in order to win? Do you realize how ridiculous and idiotic you sound? Did it ever occur to you that perhaps those in America aren't as easily seduced by conformity as you seem to be? Be it sports, religion, politics, science, whatever--I find people who have the strength to stand against the majority and shatter the mold to be the physical embodiments of leadership--regardless of the nationality of the man or woman behind the origination. Your lack of appreciation and respect for others that might differ from you is both unfortunate and noted.
im sorry bro i just think we a closer nation and im proud of that
That's one truly warped view. You were correct in one of your earlier posts--you are incredibly narrow-minded. That's sad. Judging from your obvious lack of rational thought, you cannot be more than 16.Ronaldinho wrote:This is what i mean, in europe we have a balanced love for particular sports be it football etc, americans just think f*ck that and loose what love they have as a country and become singles. We DO play soccer in America. Furthermore, we DO play soccer on an international level. I don't understand where you're coming from on the "Americans make up their own sports that they can win at" argument.
Maybe you should note that soccer is the main INTERNATIONAL SPORT recognized in America and that the world cup is the main INTERNATIONAL SPORTING EVENT (aside from the Olympics of course) viewed in America? We don't play against you in sports we "invented", such as American Football, so i don't see where you're coming from in terms of "we want to beat the rest of the world so we make our own sports."
To sum MY point up, we're perfectly diverse in our sports. I havent seen anything which would suggest otherwise.

American Football is not as big of an injury deal. You're just as likely to get injured by a legal move in soccer as you are from a legal American football hit. It's when people start breaking the rules or the guy with the ball does something to leave himself exposed that you get hurt. Also, you're really not risking your life in American Football. It hasn't been that way since they banned clotheslines and Facemasks.gavin_sidhu wrote:european football, like the stratergy and you dont have to be mentally insane to play it (why else would u risk ur life in american football)
Wrong. We didn't use European football because it's just not that popular here in the states.Ronaldinho wrote:European, has to be americans cant play it so they make up a whole new game and put "american" in front of it so they win at it all the time
European football is exciting and for many people is there life.

Soccer is the most popular female sport in America, and is very popular among younger people as OnlyAmbrose said.DogDoc wrote: All right, well let me ask the question from a little different angle. What is it that we Americans are missing? Why don't you think football as you know it to be has not caught on over here? Why don't we "get it"?
Judging from what you just said, you haven't seen a soccer game in your entire lifeSammy gags wrote:i like american football better because, u need 2 be skilled with every part of your body (not just feet), there is more thinking involved, & most of all u cant foul out
As I haven't seen college soccer games televised every Saturday, professional soccer games televised on Sundays, and as there are no Monday Night Soccer games and no Soccer Super Bowl, I think I am speaking for the majority of Americans.Dlakavi wrote:

So you only speak for yourself, not the majority of americans.
I think in about 10 years it will be a most popular sport in America and America will have a great soccer team.
If I could just figure out the rules, you might be right . . .hasaki wrote:What are you guys on about soccer and american football both suck. Australian football is no1. High scores and fasted paced.
And for the English out there. The ashes is ours.
I agree that it certainly has gotten that way. The NFL is just a big commericalized mess.Mirak wrote:Much as I love to watch American Football I find it too contrived and artificial...
Whats so good about America Football? You can predict the results... Some years ago (like 15 years) we could watch the Super Bowl in Brazilian open TV... Wow, the score is just like the critics predictedDogDoc wrote:As I haven't seen college soccer games televised every Saturday, professional soccer games televised on Sundays, and as there are no Monday Night Soccer games and no Soccer Super Bowl, I think I am speaking for the majority of Americans.

Soccer also can be a bit boring, I think. Not only some poor played games, I hate championships like Spain National, or English Premier League, where only 2-3 teams have major chances of win... Try to predict what team will be Brazilian champion before the tourney start... or try to predict World Cup champion... its not easy when you have 8-10 teams with real possibilities, and only one goal can make all difference.
