actually, thats the think i like about it, ud have normal continents on 1 side then island hopping on the other. but i dont know if that would work well in gameplay. its similar to the discworld map, just sideways.

ya, i agree. just a map of the places in The Dawntreader would b cool.
Do you need an excuse to have a war? I mean, who for? Can't you just say "You got lots of cash and land, but I've got a big sword, so divy up right now, chop chop."

Voyage of the Dawn Treader was probably the second best one, tied with The Last Battle. #1 of course is The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Though the Silver Chair was probably the most creative.
ImageChildren, this is what happens to hockey players, druggies, and Hillary Clinton.

Rope. Tree. Hillary. Some assembly required.

So I now have dcowboys055 and Balsiefen onboard helping me with this. Actually they've probably got more to contribute than I do at the moment, having better ideas of continent and country placement on the map. So please make sure you check their posts as well and make any comments on the work they post.

Some comments on the map Balsiefen has a link to would be good, I think it's a good starting point. Also, are we agreed to have a map of Narnia and it's surrounding countries, or would people prefer just Narnia itself? I don't mind either way.

Still working on the copyright issue, see what happens. The map might get shot down before it even begins.

i like Balsiefen's map but it would probably need to be split up into a few more countries, and maybe we could put in a few mountains/rivers to make it a little more interesting. Those bonuses look too high though, maybe make narnia 7 and calormen 5, and telmar 4?

Alternative Map:
Image

Here's a combination of my and Balsiefens work on including the surrounding areas of Narnia. At the moment it's just a rough plan of where things would go, so there's no need to comment on the visuals. 8)

I've been attempting to make it tidier and clearer, but have been struggling to get anywhere so I thought I'd just post the basic concept. The darker brown areas on the map is where I intend to place mountains.

Anyway, comments would be good. Mainly on which is preferred, Narnia by itself or with the surrounding countries as well. I'm not going to be doing much work on this until I get feedback on copyright stuff.

I have and I like the "ship" idea. That is being able to go from an area in Gondor to Rhovanian(I don't have the map in front of me :P )

NOT like in the phillipines map.. this is just from one country to the other that country to the next.. not all ships can attack all ship countries.

So how long do we wait for word on copyright? It's been over 2 weeks since I started with various sources, and a week since my last attempt at contact with anyone. I haven't had a single reply, not even to say they're passing it on to someone else or anything, absolutely nothing.

I can understand people involved with Narnia probably get hundreds of stupid questions a week, would they even bother replying?

I'm very close to calling it quits on this map and leaving it in the hands of Balsiefen, dcowboys055 and any others that feel they can contribute. Between this and my Australia map which has come to screeching halt, I'm not sure I have the motivation to continue map development anymore. :(

They never said you couldnt do it...and you did ask...things are in your favour if you went ahead
Would you choose supremecy if it lead to isolation?

I think Andy might disagree.

It'd be nice if that worked though.

dont give up now, we can avoid copyright (maybe) if we simpaly copy it by hand and create a new map and the suppliers dont seem to be minding anyway.

oh yes and how do you get an imdge from your computer into img tags

We can use the original map I posted, that will avoid any copyright issues on the map, but we'll have to create new names for everything and it wont be able to be called Narnia.

Things like Aslans Camp could be renamed Lions Den or something. Cair Paravel could be (something) Castle.

If that's the path we're going to take, I'm going to need lots of suggestions for the actual map name as well as names of countries and continents.

On the image thing, create an account at http://photobucket.com/, upload your picture and then copy the img tag from there and paste it into your post.
