The Savage Nation show used to be on from 3-6pm where I'm at after they took it off the air for a year because some libs were too stupid to figure out how to change the station so they wouldn't get "offended". I'd listen to it everyday on my way home from work and even extend my drive home by fifty miles up in the woods with a six pack to catch the whole show. Then they moved it to "primetime"(6-9pm) so they could interupt it twenty minutes in with the Blazer game(who cares) every chance they get. Bullsnot.

If you were anything more than pre-pubescent children, I might actually give a shit of your opinions. reducing your lot to nothing more than insulting and name calling is effortless.

Yes, but you see, the root problem is that you're wrong.

Extreme, maybe..Wrong no.

If we can not hold to our Constitution, if the rights guarunteed there are not really guarunteed to us by those sworn to protect them, then all law, order and all forms of government are illegitimate and we need not abide by them.

In regards to the OP:

What is the position of the UK in regards to free speech? I thought that they were for it but I have heard of a couple instances (this isn't the first) where they have seemingly disregarded it as a basic human right.

What kind of freedom is it when people are only allowed to echo the majority?

Then it's not the strength of a republic, is it?

When defining the strengths of a republic, as a government system, to say "we're undergoing a democratic new world order mob rule revolution" shows that your answer isn't matching up with the question.

Anyway, on the original point, I don't know why he was banned, but I don't personally oppose it.

I have no idea what you're talking about, all I said was that if the rights guarunteed to the people are not actually guarunteed then we need not abide by the powers it grants the Government.

Politicians do not have the authority to take away our rights as they see fit and retain the powers that the Constitution grants them. This is not a game of pick and choose.

Why are you trying to discuss the American constitution in a thread about some asshole being barred from the UK?

The strength of a Republic lies in its ability to move with the times and amend its Constitution accordingly, too many people in the USA are stuck in the past and hark back to a 'Golden Age' that never really existed.
It was brought up by comic boy. I think that the only reason you're coming at me about this is because I have taken the other side of the debate...

Also, I did ask a question about the UK. Do they or do they not respect freedom of speech?

The answer apparently is that they do not.

The same is true of almost every other country. There is no such thing as free speech, unless you are in private. The UK has decided to draw their line at whatever this Savage douchebag says.

Side note: Didn't they also bar Snoop Dogg from the country?

It's shades of grey, as with most things these days.
Technically you have the right to free speech in the UK, but legally you're not allowed to publicly say anything that;
1) might alienate/upset/piss off anyone who's from an ethnic minority;
2) be seen as inciting hate crimes;
3) disagrees with police, 'cos they'll just arrest you and kick f*ck out of you in the cells.

Also, all of the minorities are allowed, nay encouraged to fly the flags of their homeland (which is fine with me) BUT if an Englishman flies the cross of St George he is immediatley threatened with legal action by the local authorities as they feel that his actions will "upset" those from an ethnic minority.
Wankers.

Which you apparently have no idea of what it is that he said. You're like a german in 1939.."well they wouldn't be going to those camps if they hadn't done SOMETHING wrong..would they?"

Willfully and unashamedly ignorant

Either freedom of speech exists as a governing principal or it does not. It does not in the UK. As an American I'm proud to say that we still have it in the States.

I concur.
I can understand if someone doesn't like his style(I think he's funny as hell) but to ban him is just being the fool. You'll get more political truth out of him in one hour than you will all week watching every network and cable news show there is. He should actually thank the UK home secratary for the publicity(after he sues the pants off of her) :P
Mike Malone and many others on the left of the are guilty of the very same things Savage is being accused of.
