Updated, including correcting an error in Group B (mistakenly counted the Canada terminator game as a standard game, too). Second place qualification in Group B is still open.
Just cycling through all the Initechs and wanted to let everyone know I'm paying attention to this one. As the remaining players know, there hasn't been much movement and there may not be for awhile in the final three games. That being said, with 37 points left everyone is still alive but me and gubarretto.
Updated with danryan's Montreal terminator win and an elimination I had missed for Enormastitz.
The board is updated in full with 26 points still outstanding and both Vancouver maps still to finish. As the remaining players know, this could take awhile...
Board updated. Contrary to what was discussed in the Vancouver terminator game, the tournament is not over. There are 15 points left in the Vancouver standard game--winner-take-all. So if danryan or Iron Maid wins, they get the tournament title. Any other result gives it to Enormastitz.
Per a suggestion from Iron Maid that was mutually agreed upon by the remaining players still in contention to win the tournament, tiebreakers are proceeding as follows:
Iron Maid, Enormastitz and danryan are playing each other in three series. All three series are 1v1 and include 3 games--one each on the three maps used in this tournament. So each player will play 6 games.
The tournament winner will be the winner with the most wins. Tiebreakers for the tiebreaker are as follows:
For any tie that Enormastitz is involved in, he is the tournament winner by virtue of having the point advantage at present.
For a tie between danryan and Iron Maid, the tournament winner is the player who won more games in their head-to-head tiebreakers.
[The Vancouver standard game is hereby voided as a tournament match and no points will be awarded from it for tournament purposes. It continues as is among the four remaining players as a regular private game.]
With 4 wins in the tiebreaker series, danryan has an insurmountable lead and is declared champion of Initech IX: Canada! Congratulations, danryan.
Enormastitz, who had the lead in the final group until the Vancouver game deadlocked, is the runner-up and Iron Maid takes a respectable third place. The mixed tournament was closely battled throughout, but the cream rose to the top for the final 6. The first five games could not produce a winner and the player vying for the title entered into tiebreakers, where danryan emerged as a deserving champion.
Congrats again to danryan and thanks to all for playing.
Thanks Peter. And thanks to E and Iron Maid for great sportsmanship in figuring a way to end the tournament. Now if we could figure out how to end that last game...
