I'm pretty sure Rodion got it right with Romeo and Juliet belonging to two different factions. Them both being townies would make Town a little too weak?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it got to be beneficial to Town if we kill one Townie and one Mafia?

It would also mean that they would know who each other are and could vote accordingly? There's a few possibilities here:

1. Shield is fakeclaiming.
2. Romeo and Juliet are both town.
3. Romeo and Juliet are crossed lovers (1 town, 1 maf).

Looking at the scenarios; 1 and 3 suggest it would be a good way to lynch. If number 2 is true we still lynch Shield + someone who is hardly active. This close to a deadline losing lovers isn't nearly as bad as losing doc or cop, and if Namliam outs herself then there may not be enough overlap of protection to cover both of them (assuming they are both town and not one town / one maf).

My vote stays where it is due to the close deadline (not sure if I'll be on again before it passes), but I would really like to hear from Namliam before a decision.

Well, I defended shield, but like I said, I never defended his character. Now, both of them are in trouble.

Like the others..I also want to wait on Nam's post..but like saf and rodion, the possibilites are high that one if mafia and one town.

Why would we wait for Nam's post? If he's a lover and Nam claims it it's probably gonna be 1 mafia and 1 town. If Nam denies then shield lied and is scum. Either way we kill a scum. The only way we don't is if someone's trolling.

Shield, it's time to talk seriously. Right now, you are ruining the fun of this game. A lot of people put their necks out to defend you and now you are throwing it back in their faces. What you are doing now is the equivalent of suiciding in the RISK game. If I could label you after this game, I would. Your experiment is studid, your reasoning is stupid, your play style is stupid. I try not to insult people's intelligence (as I remember only too recently when my intelligence was brought into question) but it is necessary in this case. At this point, I don't care if you are the lover, the town will probably lynch you anyways, just to get rid of you.

I'm not trying to ruin the game, my play style is different, and if my play style isn't compatible with yours than I can adjust it (you adjust yours too), to minimize social conflict. I find this quote a little bit odd. I think a mafia member would jump at the chance to lynch a lover because that means they get an extra kill, and less townies to vote the next day. Knowing who is a lover might make it easier for mafia members to decide who to NK. (of course they might go for doc or cop first, but not knowing who is who they might jump at lovers versus random NK).

Aggressiveness in and of itself is not a bad thing, but you have to bring the evidence with it. Throwing out random accusations or bandwaggonning is not going to bring results and detracts from the focus of the thread. If you're going to make accusations, you need to have good solid evidence or interpretations.

Hmm, Romeo. I agree that they're probably in separate factions, but neither are likely to be town. That was kinda the thing with Romeo and Juliet; the Capulet and Montague families were tearing the town apart. And if it is a mafia/town split, I'd call that a favorable lynch regardless of shield's alignment. 1 Town for 1 Scum is almost always a good trade, and in this case, I'd say go for it.

Question here, Shield, is: are you both "town lovers"?

Shakespeare's opus has Romeo and Juliet as lovers that are part of rivaling families. If the "antagonizing families" were converted as "town" and "mafia" when Commander designed the roles, it becomes worth it to kill you because we'd surely be killing 1 mafia, regardless of who it is (Namliam or you).

The only thing that keeps me from being sure you have to die is the possibility that you're both town. For that to happen we need, first of all, Namliam confirming your claim. Then we can think, although I must admit you'll likely be lynched regardless.

If you want to live, I'd suggest you post something with a lot more substance.

Personally, if they're only lovers (eg not hugely important), I'd sacrifice them just to get rid of my headache (also known as shield).

I still think there's at least a 50-50 chance that at least one of them is mafia or not town aligned. Between the quandary that is shield and the submarining that is namliam, I'm willing to take the lynch over a no lynch day 1.
