Well, it seems like all you need to do is look into the first three issues here, and you'll be moving on! The fans are done nitpicking, and the mods only have this to say, so... quench!gimil wrote:Heres that overview youve been wanting.
1. The surrounding text bothers me. Your promoting a 3D map but have the text flat and 2D. Also the font doesnt do much either, its to bold and bulky compared to the soft/sharpness of the space image behind it. A new sleek font and palying with hte bevel & emboss tools should help you.
2. The background may have issues. Is it an open source image? If its copywritten you cant use it.
3. I feel the stroke around your terr names it to thick. I feel a little thinning out wont hurt.
4. Lime green and green next to each other could be a color blind issues. But since the colors dont matter to gameplay I dont know if this is a real issues or not.

As I've said, I have no color-blind specific issues with the map... in fact, I've stamped it for gameplay. What's holding the map up is the fact that we haven't seen an update from the mapmaker in two month.cairnswk wrote:oaktown and ruben cassar are two people who can assist with color-blind issues...send them a PM and ask for assistance.

update WHAT? I just noticed this quote. You can't just walk in after months of work, criticism, and refinement, and say "looks like a lot of work to do. Give me another draft" without anything constructive at all!oaktown wrote:As I've said, I have no color-blind specific issues with the map... in fact, I've stamped it for gameplay. ...to which I say Bullshit. People are loving The Citadel, my first map, because I put the work and effort in to making it work as an idea. Heck, for over half the map's version lifetime I've had a relatively easy time comment-wise as I turn virtually all feedback into results or explain why I'm not changing x or y. And now after all that work, I'm making virtually zero changes, with a Final Forge and Quench likely to come in the next 3 weeks.Ditocoaf wrote:I know there have been threads in the foundry discussion (where I don't think I've posted yet) about what's right/wrong with the foundry. Well, what happened to this map is perfectly iconic of what's wrong. The well-known, experineced mapmakers, while they're great guys and awesome at what they do, have it much easier than anybody else. Any idea they come up with will get through, because it's assumed to be viable coming from them. While another map, while in a totally anonymous viewing might even be considered better, has to struggle to get noticed and considered a map "on it's way" to a quench.
