Rail lines or dots for this map?

I kind of like the looks of the dots-seems more Australian. I'll admit that my first glance was confusing but I quickly figured out which stations go with which line. I'm looking forward to playing it Cairns.

I have two minor points cairns mate:

1. I can't remeber but have I mentioned I don't really like the title all that much? It seems a little to distracting and doesn't fit the style of the map in my opinion.

2. I am not much of a fan of the white lines on the HUD. They look pixalated. I don't know, but maybe you could try something different instead of white lines please?

I know I haven't really given any potential solutions, but you got that creative juice so I am sure you will figure it out

regarding the bonuses: i think the bonus for nsw rail ought to be more than the ones for qrail and wa because nsw rail is more connected. its position, which virtually shields qrail from attack, means that it’s much more likely to be the victim itself of a successful attack that breaks the bonus. of the three, wa looks to be by far the easiest to hold, not being near either of the other two large continents, and therefore deserves the least bonus.

the state bonuses still haven't been adjusted in relation to each other.

rail australia, by accident or design, strongly encourages a classic-type strategy and not a strategy like the other rail maps. this is because the state railway bonuses (analagous to the classic continents) are obvious and highlighted, whereas the long-distance routes are barely visible unless u look closely; this applies to both the map and the legend. the long-distance bonuses are also poor enough that i can see indian pacific, for example, being totally ignored: the +4 for indian pacific might as well not be there.

using indian pacific as an example, i'd like to see the i in the grey square box appear, maybe in white rather than black, in a coloured circle instead. if a circle doesn't work, then it's possible to use a coloured square, but with the letter representing the state railway removed from all cities except adelaide (the colour of the roof is enough to show the identity of the state railway which serves a city).

I don't agree that they shouldn't be there. They offer another was of obtaining bonuses for the map; as do the mineral-port ones. Whether they could be increased to be worthwhile is debateable.
I am reluctant to muck with the symbols, as these were worked out between oaktown and myself to enable color-blind to play this map. you mucking in with this all this would be disastrous for that. so to this, i have to say no ian. as oaktown pointed out, black on a color is the preferred option of reading something for c/b folk.

I don't think ian is advocating increasing the bonuses. I think he's noting that the difficulty in FINDING those bonuses without BOB is high enough that most casual players will never notice it at all. I agree with making them a little bit easier to pick up, even if we need to add yet another symbol to the map.

so after all this time you're gonna tryr and get some more symbols on the map. Are you bananas???
It's not going to happen.
There is quite enough on there now, and beside the letters are already there for the long distance trains.
Please interpret appropriately.
