The title is indeed annoying! I say he should've been banned for life a long time ago! Isn't there a maximum number of times you can get banned before something like that kicks in?

First off I'm only calling for a permanent forum ban so you could still play with him ! Secondly it's not just because "I don't like him" it's because he's a troll and a spammer and it's against the rules of the forum to do what he's keeps doing. And it seems he's beyond learning from his mistakes because he doesn't recognize them as mistakes.

other then the simple fact that you have no basis to make that accusation...it is unlikely that some of the moderators even know about this thread. Maybe if for a second you decided to think logically and make an objective decision instead of being a vindictive douche bag, you would look at the case again and understand why people think it is trolling. Oh and while we are talking about this again, a long time ago in a similar thread where IR had banned someone from live chat people were talking about this whole idea of Mods vs Community. When you are a mod it often seems opposite, or the Community vs Mods, people dont become a moderator because they want to have power, they become one because they want to help the community. Yet every community member acts like any time someone is banned it was a Mod on a power trip. There are always going to be 2 different sides to the argument and it seem's like the community is always going to think the mods did something wrong. If we had our way no bans would ever happen, and just because a bunch of his clan mates and a few other people think that he didnt do it does not make it so. Owen has clearly had a long running strife with the moderation...i can remember from when i was a mod and we would have pm conversations he often said things about how he was just trying to make things difficult. For fucks sake he would report any post in GD that had a hint of a question saying it belonged in Q&A instead of realizing that the OP wanted discussion not an answer. My point is not that this is a bannable offense or anything like that but clearly owen was trying to push the line. Guess what, you can only push for so long until you cross a line and someone decides to push back. Owen is all around a good guy, but from my viewpoint it seems like gets off on causing problems for the moderators, even to the point that he intentionally pushes the line at times in order to cause a huge uproar from the community if he gets a ban.

In the end this thread will have 0 positive outcomes only negative ones which is why we are all in a lose lose situation. Owen is not going to get unbaned because he did troll, simple as that. However now many community members will further the divide between the Mods and the BPB crusaders pushing for owen's early release which im guessing will cause more problems in the future.

You know what, all this shit is irrelevant.

The forum is completely, utterly boring without owen. If that's what you were going for Andy, congratulations. Banana jokes and e-flirting can thrive, and original commentary can perish.

I don't get it. If you act like a blatant ass, then you're going to incur significant costs.

Granted, it depends on the rate of one's blatant-ass remarks per day.


Some of us do the same thing as owen, but our rates are lower, and we present the material in an easier to consume form. Owenshooter presents his negative material much more frequently and bluntly (or stupidly, depending on who you ask).

The punishment should indicate to people that they need to improve their writing skills to avoid said cost.

In other words, don't be stupid, be subtle. (If anything, this lesson can be applied to the RL, and the benefits are immense.)
