Man, this game is moving fast.

In hindsight, my denunciations of Mandy and Wicked may have been too fast, though I still they behaved strangely. Then again, I have played enough games with Mandy to know that that's his style, so perhaps I read too much into it.

I never played with Wicked before, so I'm not sure how to judge her behavior.

If I forget about their skirmishing, I am still left with that nonsensical research argument, which I think is a lot scummier than the so called research itself.

As for Xencobra, if he says he has RL problems, I am inlcined to believe him. This does of course not day anything about his affiliation.

I'm wondering about LSU's cough. I haven't played much with Aimless, but I have the impression he would not impose such a restriction without some kind of explanatory story. So, who in the 1480 Inquisition scene would be most likely to catch a chronic cough? The first thing that comes to mind is someone who routinely burns people and inhales the smoke, which suggests he's town. Other interpretations are welcome, though.

O I know that mandy denounced me but I already explained the difference of entrapment first day and entrapment later on when it will be more likely to catch a higher percentage of scum. I don't like repeating myself

Kose, Aim has been known to have post restrictions for one player. Last I saw it was in Sherwood with Selin, and he was town.

I know that Aimless likes post restrictions. My point was: they usually seem to make sense in the context of the game. The bard in Sherwood mafia had to post in rhyme, as well as everybody in Bad Poets. Those are not random restrictions.

Hence my question: what would explain a cough in a 1480s Inquisition setting?

It's not the most important question of the game, I admit, but it might reveal something about LSU's identity (whom I don't really suspect of anything in particular, but it's always nice to have an idea of what roles other people have).

Kose, the only people who want to find out what roles others have are scum. Townies don't need to know this info, and bringing it up is a bad idea, especially on day 1. I too wondered if there was a role a cougher might fit, but knew better than to bring it up since I deduced he's most likely town b/c of the restriction. That said, this may just be a noob move for you, but I'm highly suspicious of you now. How much mafia have you played prior to this game?

I haven't posted, because I woke up, hanged out with a friend, then ate dinner up until about 15 Minutes ago. Plus if you've gone through what I have in the last month, you wouldn't be posting every 15 min. You guys should of atleast waited a day before denouncing me since you can't take it back.

I don't belive mandy and wicked are scum, and it's normal day 1 ranting. For now they are not on my radar.

Jake is more likely not that bright.

I have been in five or six games so far, though two of them died prematurely due to the mod's disappearance.

In most of the other games I played, both town and scum speculated aloud over people's identities, and in my admittedly limited experience, there is no correlation between speculation and affiliation.

I'm tempted to ask why you draw the conclusion that post restriction equals townieness, but I guess that would only further raise your suspicions of me.

Now, if I'm not allowed to talk about what roles people might have, what can I do? Isn't that an inevitable part of figuring out who's scum and who's not?

This is the second time you accuse me of scumminess for a reason that I find far fetched. Perhaps it's my lack of experience, but right now you have me wondering if I should open my mouth at all. Although I'm sure remaining silent wouldn't make me look good either...

I find any talking about specific roles tied to specific players to be detrimental to the town, except of course if someone has roleclaimed. For example, if someone hints they are a power role, it's best to not mention that if you pick up on that and are a townie. I've seen it happen in other games, where a noob was so excited they "figured out a clue" they announced it to the world. Scum skim... they're likely to miss subtle clues.

Now I'm not talking about speculating what roles might be in the game in a general sense, e.g. I think there's a cop and a doc and cult leader, etc..., that's fine and dandy. Probably not as big a deal in this instance since it was very obvious, but you seemed to want to openly figure out if he was a power role or not, and if so, what that may be.

As far as post restrictioned roles being townies, I think that's usually the case since posting in a certain manner puts a target on your back by making you stick out. I doubt a mod would do that to a scum, but of course, we can't be 100% sure until the end of the game, but that's my guess for now.

Right, but it's up to those with the info to guide the town w/o revealing their role, not come out and say "hey I'm X-power role and I know Y is scum". Sure it'd be nice to know who is who in the game, but we can't do that w/o revealing to the scum who is who, and giving them a shopping list of prime targets.

Neutrino's thoughts thus far (since I got into such strife previously for not sharing them

):

1. The wicked - mandy thing is probably just Day 1 spam and thus is safe to ignore (it'd be pretty difficult to organise something so complex, even between such expeirenced players, with no actual, legal, communication)
2. Killing low information content posters this early is essentially pointless, as the town gains nearly no information from their deaths, wastes time getting a bandwagon and reduces the number of buffer players - those keeping the Mafia winning through sheer numbers.
3. Moz's 'You should die because you know too much' vote was highly suspiscous. Knowing who the Moors were is not a lynchable offence. I would have assumed that someone so (presumably) expierenced would stick to much more solid evidence. Thus: Denounce Moz
4. Although Kossen is acting a bit noobishly/suspiscously (depending on how you look at it), at this time, I don't feel it is enough to warrant a dennunciation. If it continues or even escalates, the situation may change.

If there is anything else you wish my opinion on, you have only to ask

*Cough* Aimless *cough* and everyone, I'm heading off to New Orleans for my new job and will try to get on before Friday. I've left someone my info to hopefully take my turns while I'm away although I'll pop in here if I am able to log in at some point. Before I go, I do have a couple more denouncements that I would like to make though.

Denounce Jake for having not contributed that much to the game so far(as have all my previous votes this game) and to also get another noob/not helpful person closer to Wicked's vote count to keep her around as I don't think she is scum at this point. The argument that she is "always scum" hasn't been holding water lately.

Denounce Moz as knowing info about who the Moors were is pretty much basic info that you would learn in a decent in history class. To vote someone for being smart about basic info is pretty scummy.

Neutrino thank you for posting your thoughts and I do agree wholeheartedly with them. I would love to unvote you, but I can't literally. Only reason I cast that vote to begin with was it was the first on you(not much danger) in casting it and at the time you hadn't shared any insight.

Well I'm guess I'm getting denounced for not being a high school student or for not studying hard enough when I was. (I knew I should have paid better attention to information that had no basis on my future

)

So to clear this up I had little to no information on the moores so when I saw tapulas post with that kind of information it sent up a flag for me.

Anyways I think too many people are getting caught up in the little details and letting the scum skim through day one. I think that everyone should go ahead and vote for day one so that we can get a sense of where people are going and hopefully find some scum.

This also was the first thing I came up with, though I'm not sure historically when the Black Plague took place, I know that there were multiple periods when outbreaks of variying 'badness' (can't think of a better word) took place.

hence my FOS. Normal godfearing citizens don't get plague, as the plague is God's vengeance for doing something wrong. he could be a moor. Or he could be a miller. Or medieval logic could make absolutely no sense

Incidentally, if Josh does have a plague, he's more likely to have Typhus (which struck as an epidemic ~1500 AD) and that has coughing as a symptom.

sorry i havnt been posting as much me and my friends ahve been hanging out and sleeping over each others houses so i didnt get a lot of chances to post. I had a baseall game last night from 630 to 930 then hung out with some friends. So before any1 else denounces me im gonna read the parts ive missed.
