These are only provisional, but:

Pink (Port il-Kibr) for the light blue in gawdex.

Orange (nofhinsar) for the light blue in Malta.

That might look awful but see what happens :D

It clashes a little but its not so 'bande' now. Perhaps swap orange with green? I may have made it worse i don;t know. See what the others think1 :D

I don't know but I don't feel satisfied with the result. I will check some more colour schemes. Thanks for your help Guiscard.

ach! what happened! u gotta bring the magenta back. your brights are your best colours. and cyan and light blue cant go next to each other.

Okay with 80% of the votes in the poll the borders will remain like those shown in Version 4.15. Thanks for your votes. I will be starting a new poll about the colour scheme soon.

I like the Version 4.17B (gradients), but thats personal.

It looks better in combination with the sea.

And one other question to you, Ruben Cassar:
How can U change another poll in youre own Topic?
Because I want to make another poll.

See U later on the map Foundry,

I like the gradients version as well. In fact I am undecided about which one I prefer! I will answer your other question via a pm.

i like 17a- imo the gradients make it look dirty.

Now lets look more at the game play changes that have taken place:
  • Port il-Kbir -- 5 Countries, 3 Borders, Bonus of 3. //// Due to the low number of countries and higher amount of borders, I think 3 is a sufficient bonus. Anything less wouldn't do it justice, but 4 seems pushing too much.
  • Nofsinhar Malta -- 5 Countries, 3 Borders, Bonus of 3. //// Exact copy of Port il-Kbir.
  • Punent Malta -- 6 Countries, 3 Borders, Bonus of 3. //// Does one more country justify the bonus of 4? It almost makes more sense if you make Nofsinhar Malta a bonus of 4, push this down to three..as Nofsinhar has the valuable Helipad...perhaps allowing that to be worth a bump in bonus value. But then you might have to say if you bump Nofsinhar Port deserves a bump due to it's reach of the North, but I think the Capital City bonus essentially does that.
  • Parti Centrali -- 6 Countries, 4 Borders, Bonus of 5. //// Looking at the number of both borders and countries, bonus of 5 seems to do it justice...as 6 seems too much...having a bonus for each country? I don't think so.
  • Lvant Malta -- 4 Countries, 3 Borders, Bonus of 3. //// Again, looking at the number, if you go the route of the one area above, it seems alright.
  • Tramuntana Malta -- 3 Countries, 2 Borders, Bonus of 2. //// Same goes for this continent as the two above.
  • Il-Ponta -- 4 Countries, 3 Borders, Bonus of 3. //// Copy cat.
  • Tramuntana Ghwadex -- 6 Countries, 2 Borders, Bonus of 4. //// This one seems a little off. Take a look at Punent. 1 more border but the same bonus. Unless you think having the helipad is justification for giving it essentially a bump in bonus to 4.
  • Nofsinhar Ghawdex -- 3 Countries, 3 Borders, Bonus of 2. //// If you go the route of not giving a +1 for each country, this seems alright...but it also seems maybe slightly under bonused...due to the fact it has 3 borders. What about removing the Fontana and San Lawrenz border, and making a Victoria and Xlendi border? That wouldn't change gameplay so much, as Victoria would take the place of being another border for Tramuntana Ghwadex, while giving Nofsinhar only 2 borders for a bonus of 2. That seems a little more reasonable.
Wooho. I think I've covered the things I currently want to. I'll check back again when I've more time, as this most took a while. :)

While I am waiting for the poll results to decide about the visual aspect of the map I would like to focus the conversation again on the bonuses.

Replying to Andy's comments on the bonuses we do not agree about:

Punent ta' Malta which is currently at a bonus of 4. Andy is suggesting reducing this to 3 and maybe topping Nofsinhar ta' Malta to 4. I am undecided on this issue. I do not want all the bonus to be a static 3, but I understand Andy's point. What are other people's opinions on this issue?

Tramuntana ta' Ghawdex...it actually has 4 borders Andy not 2 as you stated. There is the helipad (which you partly took into consideration) but there is also the sea route. That is the reason I gave it a bonus of 4 and not 3. I think it should stay this way.

Nofsinhar ta' Ghawdex: Since the continent is very congested on the left hand side I prefer not to make that change as things would be too cluttered and the borders would remain the same, therefore not affecting gameplay in any way.

Any further feedback on the bonuses?

I can see the other points, but Nof. Ghawdex seems out of whack.

looking at the colours again, i think if u just replaced the lt green up in the top it would be a lot better. that colour just seems out of place. something in the red family maybe?
oh- and i mentioned this b4, but i still think all the army circles need to be uniform in colour. but i know ur still wrking on the other visuals, just putting this up to be seen.

Maybe I haven't understood what you meant to say in your post Andy. From what I gathered you want me to remove the Fontana-San Lawrenz border and make a Victoria-Xlendi border. However when I look at the map I realise that there is no border between Fontana and San Lawrenz and that there is already a border between Victoria and Xlendi! Can you explain again please?

I will check about that. Regarding the army circles, they are not finalised yet. I think I might even have to enlarge them a bit for the numbers to fit in.

Originally I hadn't made them all of the same colour for visibility purposes. Is there a way to check if the numbers generated by the game fit in my circles? I haven't got any XML finished yet.

i think he meant it the other way around- remove the Victoria-Xlendi border and add a Fontana-San Lawrenz border. essentially just move the mountains up some. that way Nofsinhar will only have 2 borders, with a bonus of 2.

Hmm still I cannot understand the reasoning. Wouldn't we have the same number of borders but one more attack route this way? Now you can attack Fontana from San Lawrenz, and Sannat from Xewkija and Ghajnsielem. With the proposed change you would be able to attack Fontana from Victoria, Xlendi from Victoria and Sannat from Xewkija and Ghajnsielem thus making the continent even more vulnerable!

sorry this is so messy, i did it fast.

1st- i put some army circles from a different map in, looks like you need to make them a little bit bigger but not much

2nd- i think the border change is what andy was refering too, please correct me if im wrong. it leaves 2 borders and 4 attack routes for Nofsinhar, as opposed to 3 borders and 4 attack routes.

3rd- i messed a little bit with the colours, by no means are they a necessary change or w/e. just an option. i added a purple and darkened the cyan a bit, and switched them around. i was trying to see for myself what a purple would look like, i couldnt make red work w/o being to close to the pink.
again im not saying these colours or positions should be permanent, in the least. just wanted to see what people thought about the added purple. i liked the original colours, the only one that seemed a little off was the lt green.
