For a more apt comparison.
We discovered Troy, does this lend any credibility to the claims that the Greek Gods are the rulers of the earth?
no, cause belief in them died out long ago, belief in God has been around as long as everybody can remember AND still exists
So you're acknowledging that God has different names to different people? So Yahweh = God, Allah = God, maybe possibly even Zeus = God.
How about the Hindu faith? One god, many faces. Hindu god = God.
This is what you're acknowledging, correct, that he has a different name to different people? The name God was created in the 1st century. So he had to have different names.

How can you deny something that you don't believe in?
It has to exist to deny it.
So let me get this straight... Anything that anybody denies, exists. So somebody denies the existence of say, all the Egyptian gods, that means that all the Egyptian Gods. Therefor, your God is not the one true God, but rather one God of many. Which means that the Bible is incorrect. Which means that we can abolish all these silly notions that the conservative Christians are throwing at us, since they believe in something that is false.

That my friend is addressed in the bible....
You would have to read the word of God to find out the truth.
But that is a good point!

no it has to maybe exist to deny it.

Then nobody gets mad at me.

Actually no that makes everybody mad because you have some of the other belief in you. It's like in the Depression times when mixed children weren't expected by white people because they were black, and not accepted by black people because they were white.

No what you're missing is the fact that
anything can't be proven not to exist. Egyptian Nile Gods cannot be disproven, Bacchus (the greek god of ecstacy and wine) cannot be disproven.
But since there is no actual prove for them, it's silly to assume they exist.
See, I'm an agnostic atheist, which means that while I don't dismiss the notion that God
can exist, I don't think he does because I see no reason to assume he does.

It depends on what he means by the combination.

I don't see how it is the Truth when Catholics priests decided what should be in the New Testament.

Man, I really hate religious people trying to prove there is a god by saying "how else did everything come about?" WTF! Where the hell did this God come from? If s/he is allowed to come out of nowhere, why can't we? And anyway, there is excellent proof about evolution and whatnot. I'm still waiting on the proof that God exists.

I can understand how you guys look like this

after some of these posts...
Also, did you know God put dinosaur bones on the earth to test our faith? I mean, the earth is only like 4,000 years old or something. How do I know this? Because the bible tells me so...

People that believe don't usually need proof... That's the whole thing, it's the unbelievers that want proof, but they can't prove there is no god either. Some people do witness miracles that make them believe. It's all a choice. Christians choose to believe because we are promised a certain afterlife. Then people want to say people make up the bible. What good is it to make up something about a afterlife. Besides evil people and religion that want to make money and make scare tactics. I don't believe in religion, and the bible was not wrote by Catholics.

And they can't prove that lepraucauns, the tooth fairy and unicorns don't exist either.

Many followers around the world are sick or poor and are looking for some hope, that their "after-life" will be better than their current ones. Other are scared into believing that if they don't believe they will rot in hell.

Sorry but the bible as we know it,especially the NT,was indeed put together by the Holy Roman Church. They decided out of the many gospels and writings which to put in and which to leave out. If you dont believe me then simply do some research as its a matter of historical record - even the Catholic church does not deny it.

Because He is all-powerful and we are not.

Yes, humans only have the power to make people
think he exists.

Not "we" in the sense of humans, but We in the sense of the Universe. The Creator and the Big Bang are basically the same since they created everything.

No one is contesting a Big Bang.... God spoke and BANG! ...it was. Try to follow.....the universe is a gigantic black emptiness with nothing in it. There is nothing in it to even have a Big Bang. Now how can you cite the Big Bang as the start of everything? How ever "stuff" came into existence, the source must have been all-powerful and eternal. ANYTHING else is buying the notion that SOMETHING can come from NOTHING.

God is also something that came from nothing. At least, time didn't exist before the universe existed, so God cannot have been eternal because there was nothing to determine eternity.

No, God always was. He was always here, He didn't "come"from anything.

God cannot have been eternal because there was nothing to determine eternity
??????? Before 911 fire did not melt steel because there was nothing to determine fire melted steel. However, since 911 we now know (against the laws of physics) that fire CAN melt steel.
***this is not a well thought out argument.
