I know a man who has got two children. He is a big believer, a Christian. Both of his children are baptized. And now comes the tender pray. His wife, mother of his children committed suicide in front of the children. Not long after that he found another woman (she was a drug addict and an alcoholic like him), there is a gossip that she "threw" herself from the building. And here he comes again with his second girlfriend (also an alcoholic and drug addict). This one didn't commit suicide but she decided to give birth to his third child. His first two children are taken care of by their grandparents. Their father is not taking care of them at all. To add more irony to the story I must point out that they all live in the same building. Now please answer me to this tender pray, wouldn't you like to be that baby and live in that family?
And that has something to do with gayness, how?

I agree with you on this one Szygy. They could be easily been Muslims or Buddhists. Did the Christ told him do drink, use drugs or neglect his children?
Our society is based on Christian values, but theory and practice are two different terms.

So why would we be right to put homosexuals in this position (no pun intended)?

I really don't know. They talk like men, walk like man... Hell, they are human beings and I treat them the same as any human beings!
But some people are afraid of them out of their own ignorance.

Lots of people seem to think that gay couples would make bad parents because they're gay. That story clearly indicated that even big Christians can be terrible parents.

In that story guy committed several deadly sins and didn't respect at least 3-4 God's commands. I don't think he could be called a
big Christian.

You don't have o pray all day or go to church every sunday to be a god Christian. It's more important that you have morality.

But morality isn't absolute. It's not a matter of yes or no, it's just something that each one of us has an eye for.

But Christians believe that morality (God's word) is absolute... Hence the homophobia in todays society.

Yeah, and 65% of Christians believes in reincarnation, although it's not a Christian term (we believe in afterlife).
How many people call themselves (good) Christians and how many of them are living by the Christian morality?

Could you show me where you got that stat? It certainly doesn't sound right.

All that I'm saying is that religion isn't the main xenophobic barrier that stops Homosexual couples in their life.
It's the people (parts of the general population) who don't understand homosexuality and they just wanna found grounds to ban gay couples from society out of their ignorance and fear.
@ hecter: maybe I exaggerated a bit, but it was in newspapers in Croatia (did I sound like xtra right now?) a year ago and I think it was report about one of the Baltic country...

so your point is that even Christians can do crap things, i applaud your grasp of the bleedingly obvious.
that talks little about Christian family values, it talks a lot about crappiness of human beings though.

Everyone, take a good long look at this person. He is the prime example of what religion has brought this world. Study this person, and understand why he hates. Understand why he's afraid, alone, and unable to learn.
Learn how to prevent it.
