Innocent? No. Wrongfully banned? Yes, in a manner of speaking (i.e., the perma-ban may have been in concordance with the site guidelines and punitive system, but the mindset behind his expulsion and the system which facilitated it are both faulty in my opinion).

while I may agree with you in some ways about how he was banned... I do have to say that it was the "straw which broke the camels back"in the eyes of the admins/owner. And in the end..they ARE who has the last say.

The admins hardly ever visit the forums, and the owner has dropped from public sight completely. I sort of wonder how they could have seen anything, seeing how they're never around to actually take a look. I don't know if you're aware, but you bring up a point that is being strongly criticized both in the GD discussions and in Sugs&Bugs, namely the fact that under this rigid yet strongly subjective and biased escalating system of punishments a figurative straw may earn a person a permaban because they burned an equally figurative haystack 2 years earlier (with the haystack's owners implicit approval) and got a slap on the wrist for that.

You know ...just because you don't see their names as browsing the forums, or see them posting, does not in any way mean that they are not seeing every single thread.

Actually been unemployed since 2003, well retired. But recently started looking for my third career and have sense of what it involves. My wife's sympathy comfort almost made me want to stop looking for a job and keep the situation permanent. But I did find some work with the local organization helping homeless veterans.

Yes the rules will be changed probably in the future so no perma ban for minor infractions. When that day comes I would like to see DM and everyone else who was perma banned for a minor infraction to come back.

We have discussed it in other threads and it has been agreed on that a perma-ban for a minor offense is not the right thing to do, therefor we will correct the wrong.

Well, it's nearly the three year anniversary of the midpoint of the space between the bans of the giants known as Dagip and Dancing Mustard. Though, probably having more of a life than I do, they have undoubtedly moved on and couldn't give two shits about this website, I wish to use this pseudo-anniversary as an opportunity to remember the contributions made by these unbreakable spirits. The forums died on the days these personalities were exiled. And though the forum was resuscitated, the life it now experienced serves only as a shattered form, the mold of which possesses a lost grandeur that serves only as a reminder of what we have lost, and that what we have gained is dwarfed by the legacies of these souls.

Brothers and sisters, join me in repeating our demands for the heavy-handed suppression unfairly inflicted on our champions!

Yeah seriously, DaGip and DM were great. They never actually harmed the website. They never ran any DDoS attacks, or cheated at the game. They really should be given another chance and be allowed to join the forums again with the new ban rules (crazy though they are, they're still less insane than banning a guy just because some people who come to this site solely to press the report button constantly and never contribute ANYTHING wanted them gone).

I can't believe that Mustard was banned in 2009. It's crazy how much time has passed since then. It was bullshit then and it's bullshit now. Wow, I'd nearly forgotten about DaGip too, he was great. The mods really put a stake in the heart of this forum by throwing around permas so lightly, I swear that the place is much less active than it was back then. It isn't even like it was just those that were perma'd that left, I stopped posting until just recently as more and more of the people that made this place my once favorite forum were either kicked out or just lost interest. I'm not even bitter any more, as for me the soul of this place is long dead and buried. There's still some fun to be found here, but it just isn't the same. Just going through this thread I'm seeing some names of people that don't post here any more that are sorely missed by at least one person. Was Snorri banned or did he just stop posting?
