And thanks for all the work you are doing Lindax puting this together. And credit to Lufsen as well who is captain of team Sweden, keeping our stuff in place.
There were quite few Team Captains who have not sent me their player assignments for this round and I used the same line-up as the previous round as clearly explained on page 1. Now I'm getting complaints about it.
It's really simple guys. A new round every 2 weeks, and I need the player assignments every 2 weeks. Apart from that I post the game rosters with the line-ups a few days before I send out the games, so if there is something really wrong you can let me know before the round starts. I am not going to deviate from that and change line-ups after I sent out the games. First of all it's way too much work and second it's unfair to those who did send me the player assignments on time.
If anybody has any doubt about how this tournament works, I suggest you read the first post thoroughly because EVERYTHING is explained there in detail. I can only run this tournament if all the Team Captains cooperate and all they really need to do is send me the player assignments every 2 weeks.
artur1 wrote:Seriously you need to to be more selective with how you choose maps. some of these maps are crap to play a 1 vs 1 on and 2 vs 2 on etc. Playing 1vs 1 maps where the player who goes first always is able to to bring the second player down under 12 territories cant hardly be called strategic no matter how ypu lock att it. The same goes for dubb. trips and quads.
The maps and settings were posted on page 1 for the whole of the qualifying round, inviting everybody to give comments, suggestions, etc. Many are the same or similar as the previous tournament and I never heard a complaint then....
I even invited some players to give me their ideas, I never received any.
At this stage I'm not going to change them anymore. Besides, there are few maps really good for 1v1 and we have 23 rounds to fill without playing the same maps all the time....

I agree with artur that maps that drop 12, 15, etc. in any game type put the team that plays second in a rough position, but TLO is a big tournament and if Lindax gave ample opportunity for comment and even contacted people to get feedback, you can't really fault him.
There is no easy list of maps (although one is in the works by jakewilliams) that lists maps that have this type of problem but it's more of a map foundry concern than a tournament problem. I invite you to read and comment upon jake's suggestions here, viewtopic.php?f=4&t=122033, which seeks to remedy the problem.
