Anyways, now that both Memorial day and Target's B-day are behind us I can post my greatly anticipated band of the week.
This week's band is Thin Lizzy. We only get a brief glimpse of Thin Lizzy on the radio but in reality they have so many songs that we don't hear and really to me it's mind boggling and mind bottling that they didn't make it big before 76. Phil Lynott gave the band a great vocalist and songwriter and the guitar in pretty much every Lizzy song is superb. Unfortunately, Phil Lynott died due to drug abuse in 1986, 10 years after The Boys Are Back In Town gained them world wide fame.
That said it brings me to my song of the week. WHiskey in the Jar by Thin Lizzy, one of their early hits that you might not have heard by them.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zEZriQOA2o
The video posted actually features three guitarists. Starts with midge Ure (I believe this was his last performance with the band) by himself and eventually Scott Graham and Snowy White join in.

hey, no violence my love.
I know you love cookies.
I know Andy loves bananas.
Consider me the research department for the banana cookie.
It won't be easy.
I'll tell you when I succeed.
Umm Jones you completed that yesterday.

I think @Whiskey in the jar' was their forst single.
Lynott was an excellent guitarist, but most of the band's tunes somehow didn't quite cut it for me.

I think it was their first single too but I'm pretty sure it didn't make it to the states. It definitely didn't make it to my state. And yes Phil was a great bass guitarist.
