I don't think it's a good way either because it seems like a sucking up way to do it. Deciding to beleive just so I don't go to hell. But you know what, after making that decision with the mind, it's grown into something I beleive with all my heart.got tonkaed wrote:I just dont think its a good way to decide to believe in God. Also first meeting of tonkaism will be put on a calendar or something.

Oh believe me the curls at least are real. As a kid, I hated them. Did you ever hear the nonsense that grown-ups tell you to make you eat your crusts (not sure if this is just a Cockney thing) - "you'll never have curly hair unless you eat the crusts"?
Well, I love crusts, but spent most of my childhood avoiding them 'cos it might make my hair go straight!
That's pretty deep Caleb.Caleb the Cruel wrote:Alright well I haven't read the latest debate here, but I have a message for all you doubters out there in CC-land. Here is an excerpt from a song by Stellar Kart...
Tell me what do you believe in
Does your life have rhyme or reason
Something in your heart that makes you care
I hope that you don't mind me asking
But I have got a burning passion
I need to know forever you'll be there
I can't make it clearer
Put it any other way
If you can't see the simple truth I do
Then there's nothing in this world that's left to say
But jesus loves you
I know I don't have all the answers
And I have wasted many chances
To prove to you a faith that lives inside
I'm praying there will be a breakthrough
Cause I can't be the one to save you
God knows how many times I've tried
I can't explain
But I can't deny
So many times for you I've cried
Deep... and transparent.Gregrios wrote:That's pretty deep Caleb.Caleb the Cruel wrote:Alright well I haven't read the latest debate here, but I have a message for all you doubters out there in CC-land. Here is an excerpt from a song by Stellar Kart...

It's definitely an interesting proposition and not one you could totally discount out of hand. I'll grant you that. All I'm saying is that you probably heard that from someone else without even knowing the source behind it.rocky mountain wrote:so what about it? doesn't it make sense?
Well, I've experienced it without knowing the source of the theory.protectedbygold wrote:It's definitely an interesting proposition and not one you could totally discount out of hand. that was not my intentions on my post. it was just something to think about. i did not say it was a good way to believe in God. it just makes sense in my eyes...Gregrios wrote:I don't think it's a good way either because it seems like a sucking up way to do it. So yes it might not be the most noble way to decide but what other way to decide is there for a non beleiver?
I also think it makes sense especially when you consider that a non beleiver is going to make their decision with the mind. I honestly don't see any other way.rocky mountain wrote:that was not my intentions on my post. it was just something to think about. i did not say it was a good way to believe in God. it just makes sense in my eyes...Gregrios wrote:I don't think it's a good way either because it seems like a sucking up way to do it. Yes, because all Atheists are miserable. They would have to be right? After all they have no invisible friends to talk to at bedtime!Gregrios wrote:I suppose the weak willed atheist needs something to blame their misery on.

Gentlemen, It should never be agreeable to put words in anothers mouth. Debate or disagree to your hearts content, but I feel that this was cheap. I apologize. The song is simply titled "Jesus Loves You" by Stellar Kart.
