It is an interesting point you two make about speculation, there is of course an alternate point to make.
There is of course a chance we have caught scum, if we see a fishy name we should pursue further information on that basis, I am not necessarily advocating a lynch, but I am stating that with certain known information one must assume the worst to win. For example if a tracker found one of us visited naxus last night I would hope we would pressure him on the nature and confirmability of his action rather than "wait for him to slip up" in the game thread.
On the other hand if we go on a purely post analytical method tempered with no bias, someone claims "Satan" or something, is in fact the Mafia, SK or whatever scum is in the game, but otherwise blends in, we go ahead and reveal more names to the advantage of scum, wait for the night to clear them and in the process lose more of our own power.

I generally prefer to deal with the plausible cases before tackling something unknown, I gave my beliefs on the current events and made a decision based on admittedly meta-game based facts, but I suppose it is a fair point I should spend more time building some facts from the other evidence in thread, I really have been busy with RL though.

I think he might be a jester, so I will not vote for him. I think he may have slipped up but obviously need a specific claim to be sure what to do.

Two people yearning for a no lynch, I can't say I disagree much with that. Hopefully there is an exciting night of investigations or else we are screwed for tomorrow.

The thing about the roleclaims is that we know who Butters is and who Kenny are but not what their powers are. Tal and chap can still have fun roleplaying but not actually claim. Presumably, the mafia would know who town are anyways so it's not like a lot of information is gained. With SO many episodes to choose from, we have no idea what roles are doing what. I could imagine Kenny as Jester, lynchee, Bulletproof, someone who always comes back from the dead, someone who is really good at videogames, whatever.

The point is that I can't imagine the basic 4 as not town. naxus, you have messed up. I want to see a vote count before I vote, but I think you are probably close to claim time.

The overall gist of his post was only to establish the main character's and by extension his own role as a solid town claim.

I don't necessarily think that Cartman is the villain in the game. It is possible, as he is often villainous; but look at all the proper things he does. For instance, defending the world against the evil GIngervitis

Don't you know evilchaos? The godfather strategy only works if the person you are trying to assist/connect with actually plays the game on an emotional level instead of a rational one.

The godfather strategy (at least mine): try to associate with a person or persons and defend them any chance you get. If you get killed, they go down with you hopefully, and the warm fuzzy feeling you give them will make you unlikely to be voted by them.

My money would be on Cartman as the most likely to sell town down the river should he get a chance. I have no problem for voting for Doom at this point. Agreed with most of what you said, although there's one thing that we don't know - his role. But generally, yes, if we're voting him, that means we have intentions to finish him, but due to his role, I am really not too against it.

The case against Yoshi above is rather convincing. Hoping to pressure for a claim in order to get at least some useful info out of this day.

I can see Cartman easily being a lyncher, as he throws people under the bus often, or any other anti-town role. The fact that he repeatedly tried to establish Cartman as town before name claiming worries me.

Ok, a quick google of South Park Soup reveals 2 possibilities: Mr. Twig Soup and Stan's SARS cure. Neither of those stand out to me. Can you propose someone else is making soup, or are you calling saf a liar?

One more thought just occurred to me, but it isn't exactly soup by definition.
