DiM wrote:it's a tilde like on portimao.

and you said you bought new glasses and a bigger display. tsk tsk

DiM, if it is a tilde then it is squashed because it doesn't have the same structure as the other one on portimao and looks to me like it is distorted, and yes i am looking at it woth new monitor and new glasses, that's why i can see the difference if you can't.

And i ask Gimil....if you would please advise me on this situation.

Im not really sure what symbols are what. But i did copy and paste this name from a portugese player who gave a list of name canges so im assuming its correct. As for it being distored and squashed, im not really sure who to go about fixing that without changing the font again.

Gimil....these are the symbols...

~ tilde [keystrokes = Alt + 0227] = ã
- (over the a) is called a macron available in your character map Unicode 0101 - copy and paste into your vector

have a look at your vector and see if it is a straight line (macron) over the a or a tilde

hope this helps.

It might be something to do with the a underneath it?!

Can Gimil reattempt the wording on that one to make sure this is how it always comes out...

I agree with Cairns that it looks different to the other one?!

I think it may be the stroke thats distorting this image.

If you mean a stroke on the text, why would there be a stroke on the text?

Gimil...i'm sorry if this tilde issue has caused an inconvenience for you, but i wanted to clarify what was happening there because to me it is a noticebale difference.

If you cannot change it, then i am happy that you have tried.

The rest of the map looks spot on to me.

hi all,
i'll just like to do some questions; why my country (Portugal) isn't up like it should (North - up) ? are there any portuguese players involved on this map creation? who choosed the towns to name the territories?

The reason for this angle was becasue:

1. size restrictions were tight.

2. Having hte map at this angle stopped the map looking to vertical gameplay wise

"longer than necessary" ???? - so? we better shut the f.. up because Mr Sioux can´t sleep until this map is on?! ok, i don't even understand why they've made this forum topic...if they had just create the map and put it ON, we wouldn't GETTING THIS LONGER THAN NECESSARY

This isn't a flame forum, thank you for your opinions though, please state them objectively and politely in the future. Gimil, expect some news in the next few days (or maybe today).

LONGER THAN NECESSARY

When a discusion as the same questions argued twice, after the first time the majority went one way... that´s longer than necessary.

sioux it's not what you think is making it longer than necessary, it's that andy is a very busy man.

thats the reason there is now 2 Cartography assistants, to speed up the process. And i have to say there is definetly an improvment already

they can't quench, so now you're waiting on andy.

but the assistants are definately helping give feedback faster.
