If the NR (New Recruit) does not want to play Risk or learn to play in THIS format on this website, NOT MUCH can be done.

We do offer speed Guide Games, but some of those take 5 minutes to fill and start, and many NR do not wait much more that 2 minutes. I have played LOTS of Guide Games and that is MY Experience. Ask other Guides who play many such games. Some NRs opt for the 24 hour game and many of those do not go to completion, either.

As I stated before, in this same thread, this format is NOT for everyone and I think many (or most) younger players do not like this format of waiting and playing one turn every 24 hours. Most young people are used to: 1) immediate gratification; 2) immediate responses; and 3) immediate turns. This format does not cater to those type of players.

Waiting for some of them for 24 hours reminds me of Postal Chess: waiting one week for the next move, waiting for delivery by opponent for the next move via USPS. Talk about snail mail and the pace of a slow (and thoughtful) game.......(Postal Chess was discussed when I learned about Chess and options to play A LONG TIME ago, in a Galaxy, far, far away.....)

Most of these new players will not stay long, but if we can keep 25% it would be awesome.
