Re: Periodic Table Mafia [12/13] Day 2: Metalloids Suffer

Post by sempaispellcheck »

You bring up a good point, jonty. As reactive as they are (and especially given that fluorine is probably here as an SK) I'd expect the halogens to be third-party.

Which brings up two possibilities:
1) There are no third parties (besides fluorine)
2) We have a number of VT fakeclaims.

Whatever the case may be, Day 2 ends tomorrow night, so if we're going to put a lynch together, we're running out of time.

guys have you read the settings? the only possible 3rd party role is serial killer (and only 1!!!!); if there is a serial killer sam left us enough clues to know he is fluorine.
We got a dead scum that is silicon and scums are metalloids!!!
thinking there could be such elements as bromine or chlorine left in this game is pure skimming.

so what was that wierd question about? what is all this pointless discution about halogens? the last element had to be hydrogen, it's the only one left if we follow the logic!!

I'm curious about jonty. he fosed me for making a deduction (1/1 chances left from what i think) which was a conviction by the way, not something I know for fact. Then this whole discution about bromine and halogens which make absolutely no sense in the setting.

I fos you back jonty!

WRONG!

He FOSed you for surmising what the fakeclaims were. After we lynch Gillipig today, you will be the lynch target tomorrow.

You said "i'm sure the last fakeclaim was hydrogen anyway, weather it was iron butterfly's fakeclaim or the goon's and that this guy decided to trade with is or not."

Then he asked what alignment you would have expected bromine to be. You never answered that question. However, your surmised point means that you would expect Bromine to be scum. Which is an unusual assumption, because you also don't accept that Noble Gases are VTs.

In other words you are saying that VTs are not cleared, because it would be unbalanced, but that Halogens are scum, which would be unbalanced for the same reason. But it appears the halogens weren't used at all, so the whole conversation is a moot point.

nice master skimming post doom!
The whole bromine discution was purely useless as there is no logic in such an element being in the game, and there is no logic that any other halogen would be in the game as there is 1 third party at the most, and that we know he is a halogen and that he fakeclaimed (assuming there is a sk).
Therefore, I never imagined bromine would be scum, that's you with your overwhelming imagination speaking for me.
All claims have been green or orange elements which make a total of 13 on the periodic table. since one of us is dead, i assume it had to be the one no one claimed, hydrogen and that it was a scum fakeclaim as oe of the scums is dead, all seems pretty cristal clear.

I'll be gone for 12 days starting tomorrow, so you might as well lynch me today (aparently you make the choices for everyone) and gillipig tomorrow.

lets lynch betiko before he leaves. he is clearly trying to push town to misconclusions. halogens are town. flourine, one of the halogens, is the exception. if present, flourine is almost certainly SK. other halogens are town, along with the noble gases. then we have fake-claims, but thats another issue.

Since Betiko seems to have the less harmonious of claims compared to gillipig, for the strange interactions with iron I mentioned on page 19, and since the deadline is looming dangerously close to another wasted day, I will go with my gut and

I think Doom is onto something here. All the flavor says is that IF Fluorine is in the game, he's the SKer. Flavor wise, the most reactive nonmetal, makes sense.

Relatedly, the Noble Gases are the most unreactive, therefore they would be VT's. Also, flavor seems to make sense.

However, just because Fluorine (if present) is the SKer, it doesn't logically follow that the rest of the halogens HAVE to be scum or anti town. It's possible sam simply didn't put them in the game to avoid possible confusion, but last I checked, they count as nonmetals and are therefore theoretically town roles.

To say that you don't believe that all VT's must be Noble Gases makes no sense in light of your apparent stance that Halogens all have to be one type of role. Either way, I want to see if VT's indeed can be something other than noble gases.

can we get a short deadline extension? there is really momentum going, and we have a good case which we just need a little time to pursue.

To Vodean (and others wondering)
The rules quoted above are pretty explicit about how to get a deadline extension. Definitely not opposed to doing it though, if that is what you are asking.
