Hi Cairns,
I just noticed that some terrs names (for example Royal Soverign) are a little transparent while the rest of the terr names seem to be solid black. Is this intentionally? I would suggest that they are all consistant as I believe this would look better.
Apart from that I am stoked on this one

I checked the Royal sovereign and the colour was different on the font from the rest.
But i'll check all the others before i split the maps.

for bombardment the only a couple of them confuses me
the one killing pointed out

Not that I disagree with this, but it's not too clear in the legend for non-BOB users what constitutes the LoS of a ship/the cannon and the direction it's pointing …
Sorry about the length (or lack thereof). I had a longer one on my comp before it decided to go and die on me …

and over with
Algesiras i assume it bombards
Mars with both but i also wonder about if the north cannon is meant for
Tounant
due to its closesness but then by the image it seem to over lap
Tounant
i hope that makes sense and helps

Algesiras borders
Tounant so it cannot bombard it, but yes both
Algesiras bow and stern bombard Mars.
Edit: Tounant is actually Tonnant.

great then my assumpstion is correct but maybe lower the cannon acouple pixels so the tip is a little more off the sail
that way it won't cause as much confusion unless it throws the angle for to much then keep it
this map is awesome and perfectly captures one of the most important battles in history
Trafalgar redefined battle and i believe does the same for CC

Hi Cairns...
I'm assuming that v38 above is the latest version... I've just Ctrl+F5'd so the following comments are based on that
- I love the attention to detail - this is one of the most beautiful maps you've made

- There are some odd things going on with some of the territory labels... Royal Sovereign looks washed out, as do Bucanteure, Algerias and S.T. - have you used a slightly different shade for those text layers?
- Some of the labels are easier to read than others, although I expect this is an optical illusion... I wonder if a solid stroke rather than the outer glow would help even this out?? Try it with a couple, and if it doesn't help, or you don't like the look of it, don't worry

- On the ltitle area, "Vive l'Empereur' looks more italicised than "The Kings Victory"
Other than that, I'd say you're there
Oh... I can't remember if I mentioned it before or not, but I wonder if renaming Weather/Lee to North/South would make more sense to the uninitiated?

The Santa anna's cannon points to the Royal Soveringty, which is a flagship. Can the snta anna bombard both of the territories on the Royal Soverengty?

Yay! Exams, finished.
Now let's get on with some of this stuff.
Version 39.
MrBenn, i've tided up the flagship labels and taken the glow away and given them an offset of their country colour.
Also fixed the Vive l'Empereur, it needs to have some italicisation as it's meant to be on the sail, i've removed the drop shadow on both.
And i think id' like to keep the Weather/Lee demarkation. It's educational for a naval map, and i think that at some point the uninitiated can learn something also.

This is great!
You should have this instead of Jamaca in your sig, this is way better.
the 888s are a little hectic but they all fit well enough.

There's a few numbers on the small map that are off a touch (Neptuno, Prince, ST stern, I'm sure there are more), but otherwise this looks about ready to play on.

Thanks Inca, and to Yeti_C and all others who have assisted with this map.

It still feels a bit off with the yellow's black glow and no other for the others. If you added the glow to the other lines, would it really be that bad?
Other than that, seems good to me

now you're bumping your own bumps in your own thread? Somebody is getting impatient.
Why are some of the ship names so blurry? eg. Bucantaure, Royal Sovereign.
edit: the more I look it over (looking at the small map) a lot of the text really strains my eyes. The text on the top left sail, for example - so light it gets lost. And I have trouble focusing on the text in the left hand legend (in which you intermittently use punctuation).
"Same Side between French and Spanish via row boats only" doesn't make any sense... where's the verb? What can they do? On fact, the entire legend is unclear... there has to be a more succinct way to explain that some ships attack each other (via lines, connections, or row boats) and some ships bombard each other (via guns, which still isn't clear to me on the map... Principe de Asturias has three cannons and therefore can bombard three things?).
I could go on, but I know I'll come under fire for doing so. If nobody else finds this map as confusing as I do I'll shut up.
