Well, I'm up early in the morning to go off to Hagerstown in Maryland for a weekend-long LARP of what we brits call the "Freestyle" variety (i.e. character-driven, no rubber swords). This is the second part of the Lullaby of Broadway series - I told you about the gospel songs I wrote (in character) last year, I think.
This year I'm playing Mr Mushnik, owner of the flower shop in Little Shop of Horrors, a character which has been merged with the shopkeepers from Cabaret and Damn Yankees.
Last year the whole family went but this year there's dissappointingly a "No kids" rule, since the game includes plotlines from Sweeney Todd and other nasty stuff (like a people-eating plant!), which they think might be inappropriate. No doubt I shall regale you with some of the highlights when I get back.
Hopefully the third and final installment next year will allow kids once again - it was a real pleasure to see the kids involved, and they enjoyed it tremendously.
Anyway, don't expect much from me in the way of posts after today.
