That's only part of what I've read about McCluskey. Yes he's acted as Sollozzo's bodyguard, but he's also a "crooked" cop who's on Sollozzo's payroll, and Sollozzo is associated with the Tattaglia family. Sollozzo and McCluskey are the two guys that Michael Corleone kills with a gun from the bathroom in the movie. Therefore McCluskey is an enemy to the Corleone family, but that doesn't mean he's town. I would think that he's still scum.rebelman wrote:i actually think fircoal's character is a townie one not a scum - id have to watch the film again to be sure but dont forget based on the first post this game seems to have 3 groups - 2 mafia families and the townies - yes many of the townies are crooked/nasty too eg the senator and the archbishop but they are still townies. mccluskey never alligned with one of the families what he did was act as a bodyguard for the drug trafficker Sollozzo, but that would still make him a townies based on three groups logic ie 2 scum families and the rest townies - theres every chance nag has made him a paronid cop or something like that (which would be in keeping with the movie) but hes definitly a "town role"
He is a SCUM cop. It is a FACT. As I said, unless Nag has changed the entire setup of the characters, McClusky was dirty the whole time.icedagger wrote:Nice idea but it doesn't work. If he was scum cop, and investigated someone and was under pressure himself, he would likely say they're scum even if they're town.Selin wrote:Fircoal's character is for sure a corrupt cop working for Solozzo's in the trilogy. For me it's clear that we should lynch him, the main question is when?
If Fircoal investigates someone tonight and that person is a member of carleone's, he will share it with us in order to let us lynch that person! If that person is town, solozzo family will know the identity of a townie.
Any thoughts?

Please, for the love of God, tell me you have seen one of the most epic and controversial movies of the 20th Century?wicked wrote:Ank you sure about the name thing? I've been so busy pointing out the glaring scumminess by /, I wasn't paying attention to the whole name thing. I'll take the blinders off now.Still think / is a mafia cop though.

No, // wrote:wait, wasn't it important that I investigate Fircoal tonight to make sure of my sanity?
I mean there is still the possibility brought up that he's scum later but not now, so wouldn't it be best to keep him alive for now in case we have a vig or something on our side who can get rid of the scum?

If there's a mafia cop, which I'm sure there is in a storyline like this, there may be mafia roleblockers as well. There may be more than one night kill on you as well. There may be too many variables to allow for a safe investigation for you tonight. At least, that's what I think./ wrote:wait, wasn't it important that I investigate Fircoal tonight to make sure of my sanity?

Sorry, but if Nag changed the setup of the game THAT much from the actual storyline, then I'll bow out, because all of my info will just make it harder for me to play./ wrote:I Really hope you are right for many peoples sakes, but I thought we established that even a scummy name can be town, it even says so on the front page. Plus the names of the two dead...
Still I suppose it's our best bet.
Vote Fircoal

I know all about the names. I have read the trilogy three times and seen the movies more than I could count.
I am NOT saying "/" isn't scum. But I guarantee Fircoals name is.
How would something in your supposed role PM have to do with your sanity?/ wrote:wait, wasn't it important that I investigate Fircoal tonight to make sure of my sanity?

Well, in larger games there are usually cops with different sanities, I was just assuming that I could investigate someone before they are lynched to make sure I'm sane so it doesn't hurt the town later and get an important role lynched, besides if I have the role of someone insane wouldn't it be logical to lie to me in my role PM aswell?wicked wrote:How would something in your supposed role PM have to do with your sanity?/ wrote:wait, wasn't it important that I investigate Fircoal tonight to make sure of my sanity?

It is risky, but a mafia cop is one role we don't want to last long in any game. The risk may be worth it.LSU Tiger Josh wrote:I'm guessing there will be several sanities around, but / you are a dumbfck for coming out so soon with no real reason. I know in Nerds doing something stupid like this almost fatally screwed up town. Looks like they lucked up though although i won't confirm it til tomorrow to doublecheck my roles on the other computer.MountainLion wrote:It is risky, but a mafia cop is one role we don't want to last long in any game. I think we should lynch Fircoal, but maybe we shouldn't. I'll leave it up to the rest of you.
