You may need to change your continents...

Anything that was written <component> is now <territory>

Note you can also use <continent> in your components if your logic needs it!!

Are you sure we need to? Unless someone changed all the XMLs for the maps that are up for live play right now, it still works with components I would think.

lack changed all the current xmls.

It's a really easy find and replace. Just open your editor, ctrl+h is usually the shortcut and replace all <component> with <territory> and </component> with </territory>. Nowhere else uses component, so it won't cause any problems.

That turns your computer into a black hole, don't listen to him if you don't want to be crushed to a single atom.

yup, i said it.

Sorry to who ever made it, but this board is a nightmare.

A) there's no clear borders on anything
B) the names in the drop down don't remotely match whats on the board.
C) why can't L04 attack D04 ? if it can, then they aren't named right.

i just suicided on a game because its a nightmare. no one has any idea how to play it. the legend sucks. There's nothing that DEFINES what a villiage or farm house is on the map

This was not an easy map to accomplish, because of it's complexity and hitorical references that I wished to keep the playing style close to what history tells us took place.

There are many people i want to thank for their contribution - some gave much more than others on "this event", but to everyone who showed up to make simply a small comment.....

MY HEARTIEST THANKS AND GRATITIUDE

You all know how big or small a part you played in the editing of this map, so without mentioning who had bigger or smaller roles, below is a lilst of people i want to thank for the development.

one little piece of business that I think should be addressed

someone brought up in the Q/A section that artillery cannot attack their neighboring territories.

wellllll, I didn't think that was the case, but it doesn't matter to me much gameplay-wise. But, the instructions do not say this expressly.

I think you should change the instructions to say that the artillery can ONLY attack their neighboring territories.

Or, possibly this is not how it is supposed to be so the artillery should be altered to where they CAN attack adjacent territories (for the record this is how I though the map was going to be).

Ed - there was a Poll on this - and it was voted that Artillery shouldn't be able to attack it's neighbours...

And that makes sense... how would they be able to attack Infantry or Cavalry...

Although - perhaps it would be better if the Artillery could attack it's neighbouring Artillery...

But how would we get that onto the map - space is already at a premium...?

well if they can attack their adjacent territories then there's no need for explanation. This is something that all players would assume unless told otherwise.

But, if they CANNOT attack adjacent territories then they need to be told so. This can be achieved by rewording the instructions to say

can ONLY bombard enemy-marked .....

I think the capitalized ONLY is a smart thing to do as well. And, there appears to be plenty of space for this change.

either way is fine by me. If this was intended then all that needs to be changed is the legend.

edbeard...thanks for bringing this up.
I had to recheck whata was happening with the xml...and everything is as it should be.
once again, people have to read the map before making jump-in decisions.

"artillery can bombard enemy-marked territories on the same side of brussels road.." i think is quite clear enough, but i will add the ONLY.

once again, i point out that if they are careful and look at what they are doing with the xml drop lists, there shouldn't be this challenge.
