I've been there on occasion, I'll tell you guys right now I call it the "backarse of the internet" for a reason, sure there may be some crazy guys there, offensive and humourous stuff going on in there.

I remember when a friend told me about it, absolutely priceless when I heard it.

Basically the story goes like this:

An Anonymous member goes on Oprah's message boards, claiming to be a paedophile that is part of a ring that has "OVER NINE THOUSAND" members etc, the sole intent of it was to get Oprah to say "Over 9000" on live radio.
She fell for it, hook, line and sinker and the whole of the US and the world had arguably the biggest laugh in ages, and the once mighty Oprah got beat by an unknown guy somewhere in the world.

4chan seems kinda stupid. Even if some people on there are clever enough to pull off something like the over 9000 pennies thing, the concept behind the site seems to get old after a little bit.

the structure of 4chan's boards ensures that anyone who uses them often will be seeing child porn fairly regularly

despite that, he just loves lolcats so much that he was willing to ignore it, and of course the myriad other bits of awfulness posted there second-ly. only when somebody messed with the lolcats did he TAKE A STAND

I think child pornography is bad. But not nearly as malevolent as torturing innocent animals. That goes beyond naked 16 year olds. To me at least.
