I think this thread got really silly. Some people are downplaying this because they can think of "worse people." Others are downplaying it because they have the notion that physical abuse, and even death, are worse than years and years of emotional abuse. This is arguable. The simple fact is that these people are terrible parents and should not be taking care of the kid. I think Sultan's classification of them as the worst people stems not from their actual abuse, which is bad enough, but the fact that they are so baldfaced about discussing it publicly. The people who use their infants as a baseball bat and all those other clean-cut physical abuse cases often show some sort of remorse. These people (assuming they are legit) show no inkling of regret other than that of deciding to take care of the girl. They should be ashamed of their actions (even if they don't beat the shit out of her) but they clearly do not. That's despicable.

I just want to clarify that I agree with your principal.. that emotional abuse can be far worse than even death.

However, I just don't believe that particular blog represents anything real. The details, the mention of the homosexuality... it just smacks of a homosexual smear campaign, not truth.
