Thank you all for the fast responses.
It was a very festive and joyous day in San Francisco. The Giants had just won the World Series the day before!! People laughed, danced and celebrated throughout the city. There were parades, bonfires, food, fireworks.
For the last two weeks, San Francisco's high crime rate had risen even higher, and the townspeople were in alarm. There also seemed to be more non-liberals about than usual, thus causing confusion to spread throughout the city. Also rumors spread that a group of highly dangerous fugitives had escaped from Alcatraz Island and made it safely to shore. This caused the townspeople to live in fear.
Mayor Gavin Newsom did his best to discredit the rumors. He told the citizens that the prisoners surely died at sea. He also reassured the people they they had world-class officers and agents investigating the crimes.
With the amazing success of the Giants, people began to forget about their fears. San Francisco seemed to have a few days of peace and happiness.
There was a huge celebration parade. The paraders were marching downs the streets in Fisherman's Wharf, dressed in elaborate costumes or Giant's Gear. Vendors stood all around selling food and jewelry.
Suddenly, a loud series of gunshots filled the air. The people screamed- some dropped to the floor. But it was too late for some. Half of the paraders had been shot down. A huge massacre, on what was supposed to be such a joyous day.
Mayor Gavin Newsom called an emergency meeting. Hundreds of citizens gathered outside of City Hall. As the mayor tried to speak, the people became more and more chaotic and alarmed. They decided now take matters into their own hands.
The townspeople were infuriated with the prisoners for causing the crime rate to rise, and with the non-liberals for ruining their Giants parade. No longer did they want to listen to the mayor try to sugar-coat everything. They knew that there were non-liberal mafia members and fugitive prisoners dwelling within their city. The people all suspiciously started to look around at each other. They knew the mafia and prisoners had disguised themselves as regular townspeople. They knew that they could trust no one.
The townspeople decided that they would lynch someone each day in hopes of killing a mafia member or a prisoner. They would continue this until all threats to their city had been eliminated. However the mafia and the prisoners are not going down without a fight.

Interesting that no one died the first night. Let me be clear, I'm very happy about it, it's that with a group of prisoners on the loose and a mafia to boot I'm just really surprised.

Also Flow, generally Night 0 there are no deaths. It kinda defeats the purpose of joining if you don't get to post because you get a random NK on you.
