Anyone seen the Youtube video that shows this exact scenario.Jenos Ridan wrote:So long as he don't try and tell me that the Enterprize D can destroy the Death Star and most of the Imperial Fleet in short order, I'll be fine.
the 2nd trilogy was for total $$$$$ but the 1st trilogy, the originals, well, some of the greatest films of all time!!Aegnor wrote:I'm in my mid twenties, and mine is ROTJ all the way. The 2nd trilogy is total crap, I have no idea what Lucas was thinking other than having more greens in his bank account. Jar-Jar Binx is a disgrace , and that guy who played young vader is an offense to the art of acting. However, the best of the 3 is EP. III, It's more action packed than the rest of the 3, and doesn't have boring sucked-up romantic stories.
And I've read parts of fanfics of that exact nature. I say parts because by the time the trek side has started to 'win', I start to vomit and have to stop.flashleg8 wrote:Anyone seen the Youtube video that shows this exact scenario.Jenos Ridan wrote:So long as he don't try and tell me that the Enterprize D can destroy the Death Star and most of the Imperial Fleet in short order, I'll be fine.

yes it did - han solo took them out on endor.lduke1990 wrote:I am a total star wars fan, but the enterprise D could take out the second death star, seeing as it had no shields
You DO reallize the most powerful weapon on the E-D (no pun intended), it's photon torpedoes, are only capable of a max theoritical yield of 64 megatons. Modern nuclear weapons, especially hydrogen bombs, can reach the hundreds of megatons. The weapons carried on the rebel fighters were many times this paltry number and those just barely put a scratch on the outer layer of armor. Check out StarDestroyer.net if you want to know more.lduke1990 wrote:I am a total star wars fan, but the enterprise D could take out the second death star, seeing as it had no shields
Then why is it that we never see such a feat again? And I have seen that episode.lduke1990 wrote:the original enterprise survived a direct hit from the planet destroye/devourer creature, it's sheilds make up for it's lack of offense
Huh? Besides, if you want to screw up the E-D, just match it's shield frequency (and since Turbolasers don't operate in only one frequency....). As for the shields being superpowerful, hah! In "Balance of Terror" frigging NUKES were enough to knock the E-1 off kilter.lduke1990 wrote:because the romulans need a chance, and so do those guys from the gamma quadrant (sorry never got into DS9, they were some sort of cartel?, or something, ne way the ones that wanted to destroy Bejor (the planet the profets were from))
For a ship that is 'supposedly' more advanced, I still can't see that great a leap. And the shield frequencies of ST ships are ONE AT A TIME. Or do you not bother to actually watch the show? And you're forgetting about the smaller turbolasers on the DS surface. I doubt whole fleets could last mere minutes in such a withering hail of hellfire.lduke1990 wrote:this is the E-D, it is assumed to have upgraded systems, considering it is what 100 years in the future? and sheild frequencies can be changed, data could match the sheilds to each portion of the laser quite easily

I thought so, and I agree.Newcastle wrote:let me just sum this argument up, Iliad is really bad at using irony and the second death star rocks!
