How does one (with any kind of life, that is) get so carried away with rank? Do you think that anyone off this site will ever give a flying f*ck what your score is? If you want prestige, play chess. There are those of us who could give a shit - we play the game to have fun.
that made me laugh. especially as you put it two different posts. twit with a prissy attitude? i mean come on, its not the 1920's anymore. you need to think of something more imaginative and insulting than that! i never thought id say this but you could learn a thing or two from ron......

I know I'm also a newbie, but my "peers" who don't show up also really annoy me. I think newbies should be kicked out as soon as they miss a single turn. The right to miss turns should be earned with time spent in the community. Dedicated players shouldn't have to suffer for dead beats, especially new ones. I look at it this way: Family members/friends can be rude to each other for having associated with each other for a long time. However, a guest should never be rude to his/her host.

I'm a new recruit, and I agree with this. New players shouldn't get more than one missed turn in a game.

Hi....noobs do suck at times but make for easy points at times, and do get the games going at a steadier pace than waiting say for lieutenant or captain, major or colonel to join, who will not, because they are too proud to join a doubles game, because they might lose some honest points. This idea of no noobs at all in team games now makes myself and others wait wait wait... it seems forever for anyone to join games now..."one noob per game"... great idea mentioned earlier, and maybe even worth implementing if possible. I beat a noob once!

As a very active new player I think the single best change they could make to the game would be to not credit armies if you miss a turn. As it stands now it sounds like it's actually a decent strategy to miss a turn in an escalating game, which is pretty lame for everyone else playing.
I think 1 noob per game would be too restrictive. It can be intimidating as a new player to join a game with all vets, and it's nice to have a healthy mix of newer and older players as you're trying to learn.

When I was a newbie....I didn't understand anything about the site....how people reacted.......I didnt even know there had been people playing here for many many moons......needless to say...I made alot of enimies.
Now I understand the games.....and how often the games need to be played.
The only time I have missed a turn has been when I first started. I was told I had 24 hours to play a turn. What I didnt understand was that didnt mean I could play once a day......It meant exactly what it said. I had 24 hours.
So you have to play at least 2 times a day to stay in your game.
Maybe a way to educate new players better would be the solution.
When they start their first game.....a pop up window appears....telling them how often they need to play....how to play a team game properly, etc.
Just an Idea.

So some people join, because games don't start instantly, they don't bother waiting around, and they don't come back. Boo hoo.
I don't know what it is about this site, but it attracts so many whining pussies.
I whole heartedly agree with Aradhus, there are TOO MANY whiny, arrogant, self-centered, immature, livin in their momma's basement, comic book reading cry babies on this site.
This is a game, competitive as it may be, just play the damn game.
And to all you fucks who love to put other players on the ignore list, grow up. Wouldn't you be better off just showing your superiority and prowess by just winning and not whining?

japan_jeff wrote:what's the deal with the newbies lately? i can't count the number of them that either miss turns right and left, or deadbeat all together. CC fixed it so that they can't join doubles games straight off the bat, they should do something about them joining other games as well.
i could give a rat's ass about the points you don't get when you beat them. but the fact that they bone up games right and left is really beginning to piss me off.
and please, don't give me that we were all newbies once line. yea we were, and i missed one turn in one game when i was new. so i know it's possible to play even when you're fresh off the boat.
now cc gods, it's up to you. or are you to busy worrying about the retaliatory feedback, that is still coming in at mack speed? yet they never disappear, unless somebody pisses and moans about it.
Awww...quit being a puss.
Look...the deadbeat system here sucks. I don't care if it's a newbie or not...as far as I'm concerned...I think people should be kicked for missing more than 1 turn for every 10 rounds or twice in a row at any point.
Oh freakin well. It doesn't work that way and sometimes douchebags deadbeat.
Suck it up.

Dude, you're a premium member. If you don't like playing with noobs, just create private games with other people who aren't noobs, or (since you can play as many games as you want...) just deal with it.

I've only been a member of CC for over a month now, but am already getting annoyed with certain players for joining games and not turning up for even 1 round. At the moment I have a "team mate" called Shark463 who has ruined it completely for not doing 1 round. I have another called Indian Army again who turns up when he pleases and doesn't even understand a team game and starts attacking his own players.
Can we create a topic where we can name and shame people that are doing this? I totally understand if a player misses 1 round occasionly, as I'm sure all of us can't get to our PC's/MAC's every day, but when you see the same culprits, then I feel name and shaming them is a good idea. Anyone else agree?

Maybe we could restrict them to no speed games for the first 10 games....
I have no problem with playing with the ? players... ? means that they are either newbies who will die easily or the random genius who is so good at the game but couldn't turn on the computer to save his life!
I play everyone.. (except for the three people who ignored me.... sadness.... or the people in the top 10)

I don't like to feel like I'm picking on noobs, but it has got very very bad with the noobs hanging up games.
SOMETHING has to be done. They are making regular gams last twice or three times longer than they should. Maybe there should be a semi private pool of games for subscribers and highly experienced players where those paying good money and those who are part of the CC scene could play and be saved the irritation caused by deadbeating noobs.
As is stands now, I am dealing with several hung up games every day. Very frustrating.
Could we have some response from the Mods on this?

that's the beauty of be able to start and join as many games as you could possibly want. if you join a couple hundred more, you'll never even notice those extended waiting times caused by the newbies
