Some of EB's helpers are slacker's for sure. However, bunnies are super-intelligent, strong, and fast magical creatures.
Why do you think magicians are always pulling rabbits out of their hats? HINT: It ain't the magician doing the work.
Other than the whole Tortoise/Hare debacle back in 590 BC, bunnies have been smokin' the competition when it comes to speed.

So I was at the grocery store yesterday and there was a large display of chocolates and marshmallows and generally tasty stuff. And there was a guy there saying that he was buying treats for his children for Easter morning.

This guy was buying them. Not the Easter Bunny. That makes the Bunny not legit.

The Easter Bunny is not legit because bunnies do not lay eggs, because a rabbit is a MAMMAL. The only theory that could ever support the Easter Bunny being legit is that he only delivers the eggs. Meanwhile, he has a bunch of chicken slaves creating eggs year round.

For this he'd need the Easter Bunny factory, for which the Easter Bunny and all of his chicken slaves work at year round and then deliver those eggs world wide in a single night.

That's the only theory possible to how he can even have eggs to deliver on Easter.

But we can conclude that the Easter Bunny is not legit by the simple fact alone, that bunnies do NOT lay eggs. If it was the Easter Chicken, that would be legit. As it is a bunny and a mammal, it simply is not.

My argument for the eastern bunny not existing is that when i grew up we had a rabbit farm.. yeah we actually did. so at the tender age of 5, we kids used to gather at my place to see mom smash a pice of wood in the bunnys head, stick it, skin it and cook it!

So if u take rabbit u pre steak it, then mix it up with some mushrooms, garlic, onions and pasta u put it in a oven safe container... and sprinkle heavily with parmesan cheese ontop... well dead eastern bunny yum yum!
