Thanks for the note. I've been tempted to post results when it is clear that one team will win, but I've held off. Perhaps it's because I don't want to appear biased, or perhaps it's because I've seen too many awesome comebacks in Risk games.
As for starting new rounds, Nate and I will discuss whether we will begin new rounds without finishing the last one.
After two weeks, we see the standings starting to take shape. Week 3 involves games between the league's two remaining undefeated teams (Undercover Dominators and Team Semp). In that series, we'll get a clearer idea who will rush out to an early lead in Division 1, or perhaps if one team has gone undefeated only through a fluke.
Two teams that have struggled in Division 1 (the Schrutes and Bonnie & Clyde) will be playing each other, too. It will be interesting to see who will distinguish themselves in R2.
Division 2 has been played a little more closely than Division 1. The only winless team in that division (No Name 2) will take on one of three teams going 4-2 so far.
One of the major purposes of this tournament has been theoretical. Nate and I are curious to see how a small number of teams playing a large sample of games will perform. How long can one team remain undefeated? What percentage of games can we expect the best team to win? Can we see (as often in professional sports) situations where a team low in the standings can consistently beat a paritcular team ranking higher than it? So as the weeks go on, I hope we can discuss the results.
How is everyone enjoying the tournament so far? Any problems? Should we do this again when it's over?
Enjoying the tourney (even though we're getting roundly beaten!) one problem though - I won't be able to start another game till the 20th of August (I'm off on my honeymoon!). Is it possible to postponing my teams games till then? We could catch up by placing two matches at once after that. Otherwise I could perhaps get a substitute to play with my partner.
I'll be about till tomorrowish so I should be able to finish all my current games.
Sorry for the hassle.
looks like undercover dominators will go 1-2 and team semp will go 2-1, they were great battles.
only 1 is officially over as of yet but the other 2 r close

My brother sometimes account sits for me - but I might have to get one of exiles mates to join instead as he's busy at work. So don't be alarmed if its a different username playing.
Sorry about the interuption - I didn't think the tourney would last as long when I started! Tough opposition I suppose!
No Name 2 has not joined their current games. If they do not respond in the next 48 hours, they will forfeit this week's games. If they fail to show up for next week's games, then they will be eliminated from the tournament and all of their games will be listed as victories for their opponents.
The standings have been updated. You may notice that I have taken liberties with some games that have not actually finished yet, but seem to be done. Calling contests before they are over can go badly for the caller (see the 2000 US presidential election), but I think these games have been finished.
There is one series that has not yet gotten underway. One of the players for No Name 2 has yet to join the series. If he does not join by the end of the day, we will declare that series a forfeit and the series will count as a sweep for Bring It On. This is unfortunate. We will need to find someone to replace Robert 24. If you would like to volunteer, please PM juzzyruz about joining his team.
I will create the new games tonight or tomorrow. Please join quickly so that we can get back on pace.
A quick update on the tournament as we proceed to Rd 4.
Team Semp looks dominant and has the best record in the tournament at 8-1, and are 1 game ahead in their division, leading the Undercover Dominators and the Dark Spidermen, who are tied for 2nd place. I've kept a close eye on Team Semp's games, and they are a very dangerous team. Their record is no fluke.
A quick look at the standings will seem to indicate that Division 1 has split into two groups, but the three teams at the bottom have played better than their records. Some bad luck and some great play by the other three teams has made for a deceptive ranking. I suspect that the next two rounds will see that division tighten up a little bit.
My team, the Augusti Caesares, has moved into first place in Division 2, but our recent games against LoD were very close and could have gone either way up until the end. A little luck never hurts. It looks like No Name 2 will have to take the forfeit for this round and Bring It On will move into a first place tie, with the Purple Cobras only a game behind.
I think things are going well and expect some excitement in the next few rounds.
As always, let me know if you have any problems, questions, or suggestions.

Even in the one game where we started out well, we couldn't win. I don't really know what happened. I guess a combination of not starting close together and poor dice did us in.
We have an awesome race in division 1. Team Semp leading the Undercover Dominators by just one game. There's a long way to go, and the Dark Spidermen are close behind.
