Who else will be tuning in to the Republic of the Congo parliamentary election on 10 July? Denis Sassou Nguesso will be vying for a record eighth term.

The USA is NOT a democracy; that is true.
The US is a constitutional republic; it incorporates aspects of democracy. The rights of the individual are protected and respected, as embodied in the Bill of Rights, the first Ten Amendments to the Constitution. The National Elections follow the Constitution and thus the Electoral College. The President of the United States swears to
the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
The US was the first to really try a form of democracy, NOT one based on the powers of ONE Man (or Woman); i.e., the King or Queen of the nation, such as the U.K. After the failures of the weak Articles of Confederation, the Founding Fathers tried "version 2.0" with the current US Constitution as the basis for our laws and our national government, recognizing the roles of individual states.
On June 21, 1788, the Constitution became the official framework of the government of the United States of America when New Hampshire became the ninth of 13 states to ratify it. The journey to ratification, however, was a long and arduous process.
And the US President is NOT an "all powerful president." The Constitution has "checks and balances" on the Executive Powers of the Presidency. The Courts are the "referees" and are intended to settle disputes between the executive and legislative branches.
Again, read the Constitution for more details on how the Government works.
And NO, the US is not perfect. We are still trying to figure things out. We are trying to make the overall idea of Democracy, with its respect for the individual, WORK and function well. This requires constant effort to balance the needs of the state and government vs. that of the needs and rights of individuals and "We, the People."

Typical SmallWeak&Soft Ralph; he overstates his case. If that was sarcasm, it was poorly executed.
And do you DENY my statement, or do you continue to show ignorance and bias and prejudicial attitudes of anti-US & anti-West, anti-Semetic, and anti-Christian?

AOC Hit With Fines And Warrants For Dodging Taxes
New York state has hit Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez with fines for dodging tax warrants filed against her former business five years ago.
The state filed a tax warrant against Brook Avenue Press — a children-oriented publishing house Ocasio-Cortez founded in 2012 — on July 6, 2017, to collect $1,618 in unpaid corporate taxes, the Washington Examiner reported. The tax warrant has increased 52% to cost $2,461 due to the representative not paying the taxes.
New York issues tax warrants if businesses “fail to timely resolve” their debt and do not respond to their notices and will proceed with “further collection action,” according to the New York Department of Taxation and Finance.
The state filed the tax warrant nearly two months after she launched her campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives against former Democratic New York Rep. Joe Crowley, the Examiner reported. A representative for the Bronx County Clerk’s Office told the outlet that the warrant remains open.
Dumb Old Joe started reading the stage directions: "Repeat the line." Poor old guy is just an empty vessel.

And that retort does not dispute any of the opinions or facts offered.
President Biden is in political trouble, no matter what method is used to measure that. Inflation is still too high (despite a recent small drop in the price of gasoline and diesel fuel), food costs too much, and the overall economy is not doing well. I see no real policy changes by the Biden Administration to warrant optimism about the US Economy over the next 1-3 years. The US Government Debt and Fiscal policies are still on the wrong track. Many political leaders, including Democrats, are not supportive of Biden.
THAT is a synopsis of much in the 12 minute video.

Biden's approval rating is down to 29% in the Civiqs poll. For comparison, the president of Sri Lanka had a 30% approval rating last week when this happened at his house:
Don't doubt Biden has a jet fueled and waiting to leave on a moment's notice.

One of the races i'm most excited about is for PA's state senate seat in the 14th district.
The race is on between democrat candidate Nick Miller, a 28 year old white man who attended Penn state and had worked as a realtor and is Vice President of his local school board.
Representing the republicans is Dean Browing, a gay black guy who believes Obama did nothing for him and was much more respected under Trump.
Growing up in such very different cultures, it will be interesting to see how this one shakes out

School district in Virginia apologizes for controversial logo printed on T-shirts
HANOVER, Va. (WWBT/Gray News) – A school district in Virginia is apologizing for a logo that appeared on a T-shirt during a conference this week after community members said it resembled a swastika.
The shirt from Hanover County Public Schools (HCPS) made its rounds on social media.
According to superintendent Michael Gill, the design was first unveiled at a professional learning conference for faculty and staff and printed on shirts for them to wear.
Shortly after its unveiling, an image of the logo was posted on social media, where it went viral and was immediately and nearly universally panned.

Proposed transgender bathroom, locker room policy for Hanover schools revealed
by: Dean Mirshahi

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Hanover County School Board will consider a proposal that would require transgender students to make a formal request to use bathrooms and locker rooms that match their gender identities and give the board final authority to approve or deny them.
The proposed policy, which is set to be introduced on Aug. 9, comes after the school board voted last year not to adopt policies, as Virginia school divisions were required to under legislation passed by the state legislature, which would allow students to use bathrooms and school facilities aligning with their gender identity.
