Now somebody should get serious about applying this concept in a playable way, or we should shut down this discussion and focus our attention on projects that are moving forward.

Bye then, thanks for coming.

it's an official contest. I'll post the money with the site if need be:

$500 to the winner.

unless you are more interested in "serious projects".

For all you hot-shots that can bang this out in ten minutes, it should be easy money.

PM me for entry qualifications.

Those of you that have already bailed, thanks for your time!

I don't know XML, but I am always willing to help with graphics, testing, or just for support :D Let me know if anybody could use my help.
I really like the concept, and think that it could turn out really well with the right development

You've got to bottle the anger, stringy. I was one of the first to take interest in this thread, and now you're attacking me for supporting your idea by saying that the XML isn't difficult.

As for this not being a "serious project," it's only because your ranting a raving keeps any of us from taking you seriously. You've got a good diea, but you attitude toward everybody else at this site makes this a waste of time.

And your challenge has been met... DiM did the code for a map which exists - Doodle Earth. It's got tested army coordinates, territories, bonuses, etc. Good to go.

DiM, let us know when you receive your check.

Interesting that you would perceive anger. How do you reach that conclusion?

As for your other conclusions, they are also unfounded. You are missing data.

Do you habitually reach irrational conclusions? Perhaps you should assess your critical thinking skills.

I can help you with that, if you like.

Yeah, I have money because I've worked hard for thirty years. I want to play here, not work.

Now get busy and quench me some working maps. Make me happy and you'll get paid for your work. That part is all business.

I'm not here for friendship; I'm here to roll dice and have fun in the process.

That depends on how you define "friend", I suppose. I'm sure the people here are nice enough, and I'm eager to be "friendly", but the people I call my "friends" are the ones I see and talk to face-to-face, not in a text box on the internet.

My list of friends is short and average length of friendship is about 25 years.

I'm old and set in my ways, I guess.
