You're talking about rmjw10 who currently has 642 active games. From what I can see he's probably a retired dude who spends a lot of time playing this game. Unfortunately he does so without much thought. Anyone who's played a large escalating game with him can attest to that fact as he will regularly bonus monkey and play with poor strategy. I, and others, have tried to explain to him why this strategy is bad and rarely pays off, and how he could win more if he adopted the stacking tactic, but he refuses to listen and seems content to play games at a terrible standard. Each to their own I guess. Recently he killed ~25 troops for a +4 bonus when cashes were around 20, from what I remember. However, that allowed me to sweep the board which was nice.
I'm fairly certain he joins every single community and automatic tournament he's eligible for. In the past he would sign up for team tournaments on his own. I assume he wanted to play every tournament and just didn't bother reading what any of them actually involved. He seems to have improved on this slightly by saying he'll sign up with anyone else looking for a partner, but doesn't actually look for one himself.
If you play escalating as if it was NS, you're not going to rise very far up in the ranks, yeah
Still though, I've never seen anything like it. People that have gone for the highest-active record have usually started deadbeating after a few days, it's too time consuming. Maintaining 650 active is mind-boggling.
It's probably not quite as bad when a large proportion of them are multiplayer games, but it's still quite excessive. I guess he wants to enjoy retirement playing online risk.

I mean usually when you see that it's someone going for some sort of record, or who ends in C&A after a couple of hours. But Seemed like a regular monday afternoon for this guy...
You know, drink you coffee, take 700 turns, go make dinner for the kids...

Yeah pretty impressive, he has been known to join about everything he could since years so I'm not surprise he is above 600 ongoing games, per what I remember he barely never miss turn if not at all...he is moving toward the 50,000 games played, currently 3rd behind Mageplunka69 and Great-Ollie.

Duke you had 1200+ simultaneous games? How did you manage it?
No, not me. I was clarifying ooge's post about HighlanderAttack. HA told me once that his record was 1203, and he was very serious about stuff like that, so I don't doubt him.
My record was something in the 150s. Maybe even 160, but anything over 100 is tough. A few months ago I was sustaining 120s, but it wore me out. I'm down to 80 now and intend to go lower.

I generally have around 50-80 going at once. As long as there is a good mix of multiplayer 4+ games not that many show up each day.
I think I reached a peak of somewhere in the 160-170 range, which takes a lot of hours if one wishes to think before playing. But I did it on purpose to keep me occupied after the death of my wife. This was a good place to hang out and get through the days until I got a little distance.
I can't imagine 700+ games at once. Not and play with any skill at all.
(There I left something for the trolls to jump on.)
Before I joined a clan, I was probably keeping 60-100 games going. I wasn't taking it seriously at all. At this time though, I was on a deferral from uni on medical grounds, so I was playing all day.
Then a top clan approached me and asked me to join them and 6 months later, I was back in uni. Never again could I play that many games. When you're playing for a team as good as KoRT, you kinda realise that they are good because they play less games. You just can't strategise with so many games on the go and do life as well. Not unless you are unemployed/sick at home and have nothing else to do. ^^
That's not to say that I still don't play my own just for fun poly games on the side, but keep it below 10 usually.
Of course, there was the whack-a-mods that I participated in as a mod. I think 40-60 games each time.
