I think that's right, it's how I remember it anyway.
Yep, that's the one!
It's so darn catchy, I can't wonder that you still remember it from 2nd grade.

You would die for the country?? Lamest shit I've ever heard
You love
everything about this country? Even the inherent racism that this country has? The fact that every 3rd Ute that drives pass has either a 'Australia: FULL' sticker, or a 'Speak English or f*ck Off' sticker?
I certainly love the biggots that this country holds, that's for sure

Yeah, but at least they're smart enough to enlist the skills of

That bigots are not only on one side of the political spectrum, they are on all sides. Liberal, Moderate, Conservative, in between, and going into the extremes as well.

Jake from what I've seen you're a very pessimistic person. Never seen you post in a happy mood you're always complaining about something. I haven't seen a single sticker which says that. Of course Australia isn't perfect, nothing is but it doesn't hurt to be proud of being Australian once in a while.

excellent
I feel fortunate that my parents had sex in a geographical area that is governed by a liberal democratic system. I would fight to protect the essential freedoms that said liberal democracy confers on those it governs, because they are terribly important. But the fact that I was born here, or that Nelson was also born here, was nothing to do with me. And how can anyone feel proud of stuff over which they had no influence at all? How does that work?
I don't what 'proud to be english' even means, really. I love this country's physical features, i even love some of our national characteristics (and deplore others). But that is because I have spent most of my life here. GBS was right about patriotism. Essentially, it's bunk.

slight difference between being proud of being born in a geographical location and dying for said place. But either way....
the pessimistic call is probably not far off being wrong, though, for the most part I use these boards as a bit of an outlet, so you probably hear the worst of it. Sorry.

God Bless the Usa - Lee Greenwood
If tomorrow all the things were gone I’d worked for all my life,
And I had to start again with just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky stars to be living here today,
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can’t take that away.
And I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.
From the lakes of Minnesota, to the hills of Tennessee,
across the plains of Texas, from sea to shining sea,
From Detroit down to Houston and New York to LA,
Well, there’s pride in every American heart,
and it’s time to stand and say:
I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.

Yep, that's certainly one of the worst songs ever. It makes me feel the OPPOSITE of patriotic.
oh, but this one even more so:
Chely Wright - Bumper Of My S.U.V.
I've got a bright red sticker on the back of my car,
Says: "United States Marines."
An' yesterday a lady in a mini-van,
Held up her middle finger at me.
Does she think she knows what I stand for,
Or the things that I believe?
Just by looking at a sticker for the US Marines,
On the bumper of my S.U.V.
See, my brother Chris, he's been in,
For more than 14 years now.
Our Dad was in the Navy during Vietnam,
Did his duty, then he got out.
And my Grandpa earned his Purple Heart,
On the beach of Normandy.
That's why I've got a sticker for the US Marines,
On the bumper of my S.U.V.
But that doesn't mean that I want war:
I'm not Republican or Democrat.
But I've gone all around this crazy world,
Just to try to better understand.
An' yes, I do have questions:
I get to ask them because I'm free.
That's why I've got a sticker for the US Marines,
On the bumper of my S.U.V.
'Cause I've been to Hiroshima,
An' I've been to the DMZ.
I've walked on the sand in Baghdad,
Still don't have all of the answers I need.
But I guess I wanna know where she's been,
Before she judges and gestures to me,
'Cause she don't like my sticker for the US Marines,
On the bumper of my S.U.V.
So I hope that lady in her mini-van,
Turns on her radio and hears this from me.
As she picks up her kids,
From their private school,
An' drives home safely on our city streets.
Or to the building where her church group meets:
Yeah, that's why I've got a sticker for the US Marines,
On the bumper of my S.U.V.

Do you know the Westboro Baptist version? If those guys weren't serious they'd be somewhere at the top of my list of good comedians.

I really do think that those people hate everything. Is there something they're for other than being psychotically against the entire human species?

I don't think so, but they can still be entertaining, although they don't mean to.

Croatia Has Not Yet Fallen
Croatia has not yet fallen as long as we live,
it will rise high when we revive it.
If it's slept this hard and long, it will grow stronger,
if it's so small in its sleep, it will expand.
'Hurrah!' let it resound, spoken in Croatian!
Isn't it high time to raise (the flag?)
and throw away the heavy foreign burden?
Us Croats, we are old too, we did not forget
that we are your true brethren, regardless of the evil.
'Hurrah!' let it resound, spoken in Croatian!
Oh, Croats, dear brothers, hear us when we say,
there is no force that will separate us now!
One dear mother gave birth to us once,
breastfed us Croatian milk, thank God for that.
'Hurrah!' let it resound, spoken in Croatian!
I would post some more but then you will say that I'm a nationalist.
