yeah, we don't want easy grab conts since they tend to ruin the game often. for instance in no cards games the whole point is to capture auss or s america basicallylozzini wrote:i really like the look of this map... but i think some extra territs are need round the outside... and maybe a few 2-3 bonus continents for easy grabbability.
Also looks like it would be a good game
keep it up

What happened to coming out with maps where you you dont have to squinch your eyes to read all the instructions or dont want to play in the first place because of its complexity. Theres something to be said about simplicity like the original maps on CC we have all come to love
I can't stand any maps with special rules, that's why we want a nice and simple london map. airports is a far as it'll go.

MrBenn wrote:Hi, just keeping a beady eye on the development of your London map, and have the following observations/thoughts:
1) What geography are you trying to represent? At the moment, you've got a hotch-potch of boroughs and amalgamated areas which, to my eye, looks a bit wrong.
the map is of the london boroughs
2) If you're going to include London airports, then you need to put them in the right place - you can't just scatter them at random.
the airports are in as close to the right place as they are going to get: see my airports post
3) I like your background images, but the actual playable area doesn't gel with it at all; you need to find a way to make it all knit together. In addition to this, your continent labels are glaringly bright, and look out of place.
Apologies if this sounds a little negative; I'm just giving my opinion
yeah, we need to put textures and things on - hopefully then it will look betterMrBenn wrote: 3) I like your background images, but the actual playable area doesn't gel with it at all; you need to find a way to make it all knit together.
lol i know!! haha they look really bad, but i did that in 5 seconds because people were confused at the cont names and things, but thats going to be fixedMrBenn wrote:your continent labels are glaringly bright, and look out of place.
i think i would rather people give critisism than just say "lookin goodMrBenn wrote:Apologies if this sounds a little negative; I'm just giving my opinion

In which case, you've missed a load out - mostly central London ones like "Kensington & Chelsea", for example.

When I read this post last night I don't remember any discussion about airport locations, other than a map, which clearly showed the locations of Heathrow, London City Airport (inside London), and Gatwick (outside). Heathrow airport is right at the bottom of Hillingdon. There are no airports in Sutton or Havering that I know of... If you are going to have them, I still think you need to put them in the right place, or as near as possible. Gatwick is nearer Croydon than Sutton - straight down the A23/M23. London City Airport is more central, and right on the river (can't remember borough name off the top of my head).
