Somehow I'm having doubts now. I seem to be doing a fine job of moving forwards in time at the moment.jiminski wrote:i don't think the universe can resolve this one! Einstein used the same principal to disprove the possibility of time-travel, so it is a pretty solid paradox.
Yeah, didn't you see Blackadder Back and forth?jiminski wrote:jonesthecurl wrote:My gut reaction is the Duke of Wellington, but that's mainly because I worked for someone who ero-worshipped im, and I read up a lot and took an almost personal dislike to the twat.
It also told me a lot about my boss, that he would admire such a snobby rat.
well it is your choice mate .. but French may be the international language now if it were not for the Iron-duke!
But civilian targets weren't entirely out of the question, right?jiminski wrote:pimpdave wrote:Was the IRA ever known for using suicide bombers?
This is a serious question. I'm actually painfully ignorant about the history of terrorism in the UK, but from what little I do know is that it's the most common historic example of how to combat it.
And how often did the IRA intentionally target civilians?
heh, well the IRA were tethered by their need not to upset their financiers in the USA (civilian targets were not good PR) and they were too cowardly to be suicide bombers.

I'm an operating thetan level V, for chrissake. I can levitate, cure myself of cancer, take lunch with Tom Cruise, and i can sure as hell find opportunities for spurious litigation before your alien-riddled spaz brain has even formulated the thought. Try it again. Your lawsuit just doubled, by the way.jonesthecurl wrote:Actually, c.o.s., that was very impressive. Wow, is there a super-secret Ronometer or something?
but I'm sure someone worse or at least as bad would've come along and taken powerheavycola wrote:tricky. From a utitlitarian perspective it has to be stalin, surely, for having the most blood on his hands. I thought about marx, a step backwards if you like, but then he wasn't a mass murderer.
that is the judgement Ill; does removing bad people actually make the sum of history worse?Iliad wrote:but I'm sure someone worse or at least as bad would've come along and taken powerheavycola wrote:tricky. I am pretty sure Hitler would have found some other group to blame. Jews were just an easier victim due to the already existing antisemitism.Pedronicus wrote:If I could of voted twice - I would of voted for Jesus and mo. Who would hitler of blamed Germanys woes on if religion didn't exist?
You forgot the experiments and killings of twins, dwarves, gypsies, etc. etc.Pedronicus wrote:If I could of voted twice - I would of voted for Jesus and mo. Without religion we wouldn't of had the Jewish Faith and if there were no Jews would we of had the holocaust?

Ramifications:
1. profit shares for illegal substance distributors would be 15% lower between 1985-1999
2. Lost Boys could have paved the way for Scott Baio and Kirk Cameron instead
3. Feldman's moderately hot wife would possibly still be available
4. upcoming Crank 2 movie would need to find a new extra instead of Haim
with that said, I think the world would be okay without them.
