Glenn Beck Loves His Job

"Holocaust denier"
I disagree with him about Global Warming.

Despite that, I don't see what he said in this clip that even remotely makes him look bad other than a disagreement about one issue that I personally have with him.

Glen Beck is awesome! He's right, even about global warming. ;)

He didn't deny the holocaust. He was making fun of the people who make fun of him.

He was using it as an insult "liberals" throw at him, acting like they're being silly. You know, like being a holocaust denier isn't actually bad.

He might not have meant it that way, but damn.

Liberal media pundits are every bit as bad as the conservatives. They all seek to divide and confuse the people with meaningless propaganda. How awful was it of our savior, Obama, to insult special needs people on the Jay Leno Show by suggesting that his bowling was like watching the special olympics? A slight off color joke? A slip of the tongue? Or a candid peek into who this guy, "Our President" really is?

And how about Rush's comments about "wanting the President to fail?" Do any of you really think, that given the context surrounding the comment, that it wasn't taken way our of the context intended for the remark?

To me, both sides are guilty... its just that liberals aren't very good at the game, as is evident in the ratings.. the Fox news network is clobbering the liberal media on all fronts.

All I can say to our liberal leaning folks (meaning those of you that would actually usurp liberty for a nanny state) is that in 18 months, when the mid term elections come around, you will see this madness stop dead in its tracks, and in 4 years, Obama will be swiftly removed from office, because he will, by then, have shown his true face, the face of a fascist communist, that would check our sovereignty at the New World Order door.

This cannot stand.

If that's true, then that annoying rattling sound will stop...

That numb feeling shooting up the leg of this country won't be caused by a lack of circulation, it will the snake bite!

ffs, you want the whole context he said it in originally?

Not only does it being back in context not help what he said in any way, it actually makes him look like MORE of a douche.
From the September 9 broadcast of The Glenn Beck Program:

BECK: Let me be real honest with you. I don't think anybody on talk radio -- I don't think anybody in their right mind is going to say this out loud -- but I wonder if I'm the only one that feels this way. Yesterday, when I saw the ATM cards being handed out, the $2,000 ATM cards, and they were being handed out at the Astrodome. And they actually had to close the Astrodome and seal it off for a while because there was a near-riot trying to get to these ATM cards. My first thought was, it's not like they're going to run out of the $2,000 ATM cards. You can wait! You know, stand in line. Maybe it's because I'm the kind of guy, when I go to a buffet, I either have to be first in line, or I'm the very last. Because I know there's going to be extra food, and I just won't stand in the line. I'll wait until all the suckers go get their food, and then I'll go get mine. Or if I'm really hungry, I hate to admit this -- and really, I don't even have to be really hungry. If I'm really being a pig, I will kind of, like, hang out around the buffet table before the line is -- you know, chat with people right around the table: "Oh, they just opened the line! Let's go!" And then you're first in line.

When you are rioting for these tickets, or these ATM cards, the second thing that came to mind was -- and this is horrible to say, and I wonder if I'm alone in this -- you know it took me about a year to start hating the 9-11 victims' families? Took me about a year. And I had such compassion for them, and I really wanted to help them, and I was behind, you know, "Let's give them money, let's get this started." All of this stuff. And I really didn't -- of the 3,000 victims' families, I don't hate all of them. Probably about 10 of them. And when I see a 9-11 victim family on television, or whatever, I'm just like, "Oh shut up!" I'm so sick of them because they're always complaining. And we did our best for them. And, again, it's only about 10.

But the second thought I had when I saw these people and they had to shut down the Astrodome and lock it down, I thought: I didn't think I could hate victims faster than the 9-11 victims. These guys -- you know it's really sad. We're not hearing anything about Mississippi. We're not hearing anything about Alabama. We're hearing about the victims in New Orleans. This is a 90,000-square-mile disaster site, New Orleans is 181 square miles. A hundred and -- 0.2 percent of the disaster area is New Orleans! And that's all we're hearing about, are the people in New Orleans. Those are the only ones we're seeing on television are the scumbags -- and again, it's not all the people in New Orleans. Most of the people in New Orleans got out! It's just a small percentage of those who were left in New Orleans, or who decided to stay in New Orleans, and they're getting all the attention. It's exactly like the 9-11 victims' families. There's about 10 of them that are spoiling it for everybody.
http://mediamatters.org/items/200509090003

Until his pompous, rich ass is thrown into any of these dire circumstances where any psychologist who knows two shits about human beings will tell you that people WILL act in these ways as a response to such tragedies, he's in no position to run his mouth about 9/11 families or survivors of the hurricane.

Perhaps he, and anyone defending his idiotic POV, should pick up a copy of "What Is Life Worth?: The Inside Story of the 9/11 Fund and Its Effort to Compensate the Victims of September 11th", read it, and see who the true worthless, conniving assholes are. They sure aren't the lower-class, desperation-ridden families Beck knows next-to-nothing about and has a black enough soul to not sympathize with.

Didn't we already go through this at the time - and weren't you the one saying in this very thread that "we're all hypocrites to a greater or lesser extent"?

I mean, I don't mind you posting inane doomsaying bollocks about communism, fascism, death of love of america and the NWO but at least be consistent. Jay is better at it.

shoot they might be more reliable than those two, since all they are really doing is putting their spin on what someone else reports.

It's not an opinion report: it's a direct transcript, there's a difference.

I didn't quote someone reporting on what he said, I reported exactly what he said.

Though MediaMatters does frequently have a bias, a transcript cannot be biased.

Nicely put.
Reminds me of the dwarves in "Time bandits" -
"How could we have been so stupid?"
"I dunno!"

Wait, that film is about the holes God left in creation by doing such a rush job. Did they know that Jay was gonna say that? was it part of some conspiracy?

Maybe it's just me, but I see a problem in saying I hate people for doing exactly what normal people would do in dire situations. I'm sure you totally hate people for being sad about their relatives a year after the event. I mean, jesus it's been a year, arent these people over it already? People in the movies always get over deaths almost instantly!
