As a rule, the ones who complain the least about getting picked on are the ones that are, in reality, picked on the most.Aradhus wrote:Wha..? You do understand that THIS topic is a classic religious delusion. All religious groups claim to be the most oppressed and picked on.

Christians are ridiculed because they should be. Fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly, Christians gotta be mocked.
Found what I lost inside, my spirit has been purified.
Take a thorn from my pride, and hand in hand we'll take a walk outside. Thank you for the sun, the one that shines on everyone who feels love.
Jay you don't have evidence of Godjay_a2j wrote:You guys make it sound as if we Christians don't have evidence of God. That one day we were sitting around and happened to pick up a Bible and read it then said, "Gee, this God sounds cool! I think I'll believe in Him."
The reality is (in my own personal experiance) that someone told be about Jesus. I believed what they said and after excepting Jesus into my life.... things started to happen that confirmed my faith. It's as if, after believing what I heard, God revealed to me that His existence was not just a hope but a reality. And today, I am as sure of Gods existence as I am of my own. It has gone from mere belief to a knowledge of God.
No, they get ridiculed because they come on here, trying to convert everyone! And distorting science while they're at it! And trying to spread their twisted ideas of "morality"! If too many of us listened to them, we'd be back in the bloody Dark Ages.slash1890 wrote:Christians don't necessarily get made fun of. They receive as much shit as anyone else does, but they just bitch about it more.
They get ridiculed here on CC, because a large percentage of people who come here are not Christians. Everyone likes to poke a little fun at someone who's different than them.

You wonder why we are unconvinced by your arguments?

Try reading your above statement but replacing the word bible with koran ..or any other holy book or Gone with the Wind.....replace the word Jesus with Mohammed or any other prophet or Superman...
This might give you an insight into how absurd your line of argument is

Mirak, jay knows he is 100% right, and you (we) are 100% wrong. I have come to the very real conclusion that you can't argue with the delusional. We ask only for open eyes and common sense and are responded too with scripture quotes, vague, unprovable examples of miracles and "ya just gotta believe" as proof of their argument.jay_a2j wrote:I don't believe in God, I know there is a God. Personaly I found it pathetic, not because people shouldn't joke about Holocaust (you can joke about any fucking thing you want, as long as you don't try to deny that same right to other people), but because they chose same lame picture of Hitler and Ana Frank having sex as the funniest. That's what the thread is about, I think. It's ok to say things like that about Christians... but talking about a "minority" and suddenly it's not ok.

Same here, except when I prayed for knowledge and guidance, I received the knowledge that the Bible isn't God's word. Because there's a world of difference between attacking a majority religion (or race, or whatever) and attacking a minority one. Also, it's OK to attack your own religion etc, but more problematic to attack others.mandalorian2298 wrote:Good point. Remember that scandal with Muhamed's caricature? And how do you know he didn't do that to you?
I have faith, maybe you should have some too.
Luke 17:20-22:
Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you."
Then he said to his disciples, "The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it."
It's right there, black and white, clear as crystal. "The Kingdom of God is within you."
If it is in me, and it is within you, then surely we do not need pastors, buildings, bishops, or any other authority to tell us about it or how to get to it.
I have faith in God, and I have faith that He gave me this information.
Do you?
EDIT: Oh, that's the NIV in case you were wondering. I could find it in other versions, or you could do it yourself:

To answer the first question first, I don't believe that God lives in a book. God is in my heart, so is Eris, Bob Dobbs, and Asphaltia.jay_a2j wrote:Question. How can you have "faith in God" when you deny his word? And how can you quote his word after posting

I received the knowledge that the Bible isn't God's word.
And two answer the second question (Pun intended), if I didn't you wouldn't have even given it a second glance. It's the technically the only way of quoting Jesus, since to quote a movie would gain no points from you.
Now, are you trying to impugn my faith? Are you saying, with different words, "thou fool?"
Because we all know what happens to people who say "thou fool."

And I'm laughing because that must have torqued jay something fierce (even if he denies it). I know how proud in his protestantism he is.
