well, i dont see rick so much as a villian, more of just a guy that does not believe in the people of alexandria. i mean the zombies are here. civilization is struggling. no cure for the zombie disease yet. a govt could not function in that type of world i dont imagine.

as far as the plot goes, i dont know either. i still feel there is something big we still dont k.ow about alexandria. as well with that snake preacher guy. and also the nutjob rick gave the radio that is on their trail.

I can see the dilemma they're rapidly putting Diana (Deanna?) in. For every single important job, given the state of the outside world, the survivor grup have a better candidate than the Alexandria group (barring academic specialists like doctor or architect). If she puts the best person in place, she's going to have to hand over too much control to people who are essentially still outsiders. If she tries to prevent that, she'll end up doing damage to the community another way. Add in the grief she's about to be thrown into from the death of one of her sons, the completely naive "advice" from the preacher and the blossoming conflict between Pete and Rick and she's got some very difficult choices coming up.

I like the way they gave Eugene a chance to grow in this one. He's been paper-thin in character development terms except for the lie about DC since he was introduced and they finally made him step up. I doubt it will change his character overnight but I think it is foreshadowing him getting some growth and more screen time over the next couple of seasons (assuming they follow the comics in keeping him alive, and they've never really been particularly bound by those)

One more "development" episode to go before the double-length season finale. If I had to guess I'd say they'll play on the discord between the groups to the max in the next one and make it look like the community is about to crumble before they introduce the next big bad (W carvers) and have a few more deaths to leave people really looking forward to season 6.

Well that episode was bizarre. So Rick and Sasha have their respective meltdowns. Glenn and Michonne play the voices of reason. And Rick may have gained and lost a girlfriend in 90 seconds. Oh also W zombies.

But the bigger news which deserves its own post...not because I forgot to mention it...okay maybe because I forgot to mention it...we still dont know if Tara will live or die.

Rick is put out of commission and becomes an outcast. Rick looks for a few people to listen to him. The rest of the town keeps livin' the dream. Meanwhile, the W zombie ranch keeps sending zombies at the wall to test the defenses. Rick, Daryll, the gay guy, and whoever else is still listening to Rick find out exactly what's going on and what's going down. The W zombie ranch finally finds a weakness on the wall and some of the people inside get killed or turned into zombies. Rick and his group of outcasts have to save everyone and wake everybody from their little "dream".

Oh...and a zombie kills the guy when he's beating his wife down and Rick saves his new girlfriend's life just in time!

Can we stop talking about stuff that is kind of borderline spoilerish from the comic books?

good episode again. rick's not quite as tough as i thought. or either that wife beater is a badass.

the w zombies is going to be a big thing i'm sure.

i think they are outcasts that alexadria or another camp has sent out as punishment. they got the w mark while they were alive. like the woman tied to the tree.

deanna and crew are hiding something. and i think we'll find out what it is in the finale. and also whatever it is it will get the old crew back together again. ( my guess after watching next episode teasers )

so is next episode 2 hours? i sure hope so. i don't think 1 hour is going to tell us enough.

i don't think we're talking too much about the comics. i may be wrong cuz i haven't seen them. but most everything we try to predict is wrong. it's just fun to guess. probably why i watch the show.

the only spoiler i saw was the noah/aiden prediction. which was hidden in a spoiler tab.

Honestly I was expecting more; a big season ending like the attack on the prison #1, the attack on the prison #2, the explosion of the CDC. But this was 50% people moping about and 50% one-on-one battles. Not that I disliked the episode, I just felt this was more a second-to-last episode than a last episode of the season.

Uh, how did Glenn get away from the zombies in the forest when he was prone on the ground with a bullet in his shoulder?

Now I'm kind of pissed, because the people that needed to be purged from the group have now been saved. The only one that got killed was the doctor guy at the end under the orders of Deanna.

What this next season needs is another guy in the group named Rick, and whenever somebody says Rick both Ricks turn their heads and say,"What?" And then they look at each other and chuckle. This needs to happen once per episode. It would bring a dimension of levity to the program.

So now is the guy that wanted Glenn dead going to be Glenn's best little buddy? I didn't want this! I wanted Glenn to shoot out his knee caps and leave him for the Walkers!

I don't know about this episode...I guess it's leading us to the final season. Does Rick let Deanna become leader now? Meanwhile, Rick becomes her general?

Morgan has now become a Buddhist monk with martial art prowess? I liked Morgan and all, but changing him from crazy solitary Morgan into Buddhist Zen Morgan was kind of a stretch I think.

There are things with this episode that I am not sure I liked.

Oh, and after Rick blew away Pete they should have played this song at the end of this finale:

well. i guess i kind of see yalls point, but i still loved the way it all played out.

my only beef was glenn. i think though they were just trying to represent the difference between glenn and rick. ( no hesitation with rick the executioner )
( glenn couldnt do the deal )

i like morgan, not so much all the zen, but i cant have it all can i?

morgan (donatello) + michone (leonardo) = a good next season against the "w head carvers".

rick just won over the community which i loved. not that they agree with his tactics, but they realize it is necessary. plus he now has a new mom for carl to not need to spend so much time with the baby geez would a zombie hurry up and eat the baby already.

anyway, i think they did pretty much all they could do without running into next season. of course there are questions that were not awnsered but we need them or i wouldnt want to watch it next season.

anyway, see yall in 8 months.... if the decline still allows it.

I loved this episode. I thought it was the best finale Walking Dead has had in a while. As far as Morgan goes. It might stretch the psychology a bit but I think after Rick left him after their last encounter, he thought about it a lot. I think the answer he came up with for why Rick spared his life was that "every life is precious". It also seems that the respect he had for Rick early on may have turned into full-blown hero worship. I think that he and Rick will have a lot of tension between them next season. I dont expect season 5 Rick would have normallly spared Morgan and I believe morgan's new Rick inspired world view has already begun to clash with what he just saw. With The Wolves on the wall, Morgan and Rick may decide they have very different ideas of how to deal with them.

Someone seriously needs to kill the priest and Nicholas. The sooner, the better.

I admit I was doubting TWD last season and even early this season but I think as a whole they really turned it around.

If there was ever a character I wanted killed off, it was Lori. Didn't like the way it happened, but was so glad not to hear her bitchy whining after that episode.

The reason I like this, maybe almost more than TWD, is because it's a slow burn and, in that sense, seems more realistic to me. There's not suddenly zombies popping up all over the place like with TWD or the Romero films ... it's like you're drawn into this relatively mundane household and then start to see how they confront things gradually changing.

And it's interesting all the subtle foreshadowing that they drop here and there that something bad is happening in the background even as the public obliviously goes about their lives, like when the kid Nick is in the hospital and the old guy next to him goes into cardiac arrest and the doctor comes in and says "if we don't revive him in 60 seconds, we need to get him downstairs" (presumably downstairs being the morgue).

One thing I was concerned about was when the guidance counselor character offers the fat acne kid Tobias that he can come to her house. I was afraid that if he said yes, then after TSHTF he'd be stuck with them for the rest of the series and then you'd have this fat acne-faced kid on-screen with the unusually attractive family which would lower my viewing enjoyment. But, thankfully, he declined the offer.

Interesting story, a lot of drama...not a butt ton of zombies like in the original; but I think starting the story off as if as the zombie infection had just manifested was good. And so far the difficulties of keeping a loved one that is a drug addict from dying from withdrawal is a nice twist.

I also like the multi-ethnicity of the actors portrayed (even though all the black actors have died so far).

My question is: Is Maddy the female equivalent to Rick? Is she the one that will be leading the most?

Anyway, it is a nice new way of looking at the Walking Dead that I think the original was starting to get old and warn out.

Also, will this series converge with the final season of the Walking Dead?
