Try 2px with a bit of blur to smooth it out. That should look fine.

I love the idea and would play it, but it doesn't look very nice....
what about white army circles, I know it's meant to be dark, but it needs something to brighten it up.
The font also, I think need so be changed to something a bit more... German/soviet (font)
Territory lines are great (although I add glow to mine instead of blur) but thats upto you.
Also the textures for the countries aren't that nice... they need to be more textured... or have rivers .etc. added in, also, bigger lines on the legend.
Thats a bit picky I know, but it's just what I think, other people might have different views...

I'm sorry, I was jsut putting my opinion out there. No need to go ape...

your map is very nice, I was just saying what I thought, it's upto you whether to take anything I've said...
I have opinions different to everyone else, I don't generally like darker things, even though it represents the setting of the eastern front... (I never play games like resident evil, because the gloominess puts me off)
I was a bit harsh when saying it wouldn't look very nice..

it does look nice.
But one thing, what about using the font for the title for all the fonts?
thats the main thing that bugs me about the map, font looks like times new roman. But everything else is just picky... and not really needed.

the font discussion has been going on for about 10 pages. Most people agrees with the current font. It was the only decent 1 qwert could find.
bedplay, qwert is right, he has put alot of work into this map and pretty much everything you brought up has been talked about.... LOTS.

love the new boundries they are now great and must have taken loads of work. But could the circle for "Orel" and "Perkop" and "Donets" be centralised more they are almost on the boundry.

Qwert, looking good. I think you should start to centralize the army coordinates. And what I mean, you see how Brest and Poltava are aligned in the center? Try to make them all look about like that.

I think Rzhev and its army shadow could swap positions. It may look a little less cluttered.
Oh, and maybe Novgorod and its army shadow need to be adjusted a bit so they aren't touching.
If you made the arrows a bit smaller, it may be better, a few of them are a bit close to army shadows.
The Narva shadow would look better if it was moved off the border, even if you just move the arrows a little to allow you to move that shadow.
Apart from that, I think you are pretty close to being finished. Well done qwert!
